Activity: 0% Longevity: 55% | | 1st stealth ETSY account problems..
Hi, everybody, I'm new here but I purchased the eBay Stealth ebook and been studying it and this forum pretty closely. I opened my first stealth account with etsy a couple of days ago after being booted off last month. I have two computers and I cleaned my cookies as well as my flash cookies on both. I downloaded the cookies software that was referred through the book on one computer but I used the tools in google chrome to clean my cookies on my laptop. I change my ip successfully, used a prepaid debit card, used a completely different address, new paypal account, and a new gmail account. the original account had my wife's name in it with my last name, but in this stealth account we swapped an "e" for an "i" in her first name (it actually looks like this on her ss card anyway) and used her maiden name for the last name. We stuck to paypal only and did not attempt direct checkout. We even offered a completely different product. So I did a test product a couple of days ago and it stayed up the whole night with no problems. Yesterday I listed maybe 18 more items and kept checking throughout the day and sure enough, they were showing up in the searches I performed. I thought I would check one more time before going to bed last night and poof they're all gone. I figured it can't be anyone looking out for me because I'm offering a completely different product, so I'm not sure at all what I should do. I did email them to get an explanation. If I did get caught, I guess I just need to know what to do from here. Can I just open a new account and list the items i didn't put up yet? My product is keychains, and there is a pretty big market for those.

OK just a couple of questions. Where did the images you used come from? The descriptions? Was it ALL new? What about the address? I know you said PayPal was new - what about the email you used for PayPal? Was it similar? There has to be something that linked you. Maybe competitors as you have a pretty hot product - is it something that is obviously not "handmade" that could have gotten you reported?

You need to see if they reply and tell you what the problem is. That's easier than playing the guessing game.
If they don't respond, it's going to be trial and error. If your products do not look handmade or the pictures look too commercial, that's instant ban.

That said I agree with unkown5454, see if they reply to the email.
Stealth means a completely new you/ new names especially.
Have nothing to link to old banned info....
You need to work out two things: make a new you with the next stealth account &
try to space the next post to make it easier to read. | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to GreenBean For This Useful Post: | |

Agree with greenbean, don't see why you don't just use a whole new name, why ask for a ban hammer?

Sorry guys, I put that post out days ago and somehow the posts I made afterwords were approved before it. I used the name variation as I never used my wife's name and figured we could set up DC that way until I came across the 3rd party id problem, which I posted a few times already on here. Anyway, I decided to email etsy directly after my items disappeared and I was told by them that it was basically a mistake and they restored my listings. I've had a couple of sales since and so far so good (knocking on wood).

Mistake as in they manually reviewed your account and you somehow passed...
Good news I guess. But, not an exact answer.

This is what they replied with:
Hello,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I've gone ahead and re-indexed your listings, and they should be searchable within the next 20 minutes. I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
Please let me know if there's anything else that I can help you with.

Got a question regarding a different issue. I created a second stealth account and I normally always log out of my accounts before switching users and creating a new ip. I somehow forgot to log out of one account and accidentally went back in after logging into my second stealth account. It only took about 20 seconds before I realized what I did and quickly logged back out. I then changed the ip again. Is this enough for them to link the two accounts?

Always log off the user, but switch user should still be fine. Et.sy is not that advanced and if you changed IPs anyways, there's really no way for them to tell the difference.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my last message. The issue wasn't the fact that I switched users, the issue was that I logged into my second etsy stealth account with the same IP. It only took me about 20 seconds to realize what I did before quickly logging out and changing the IP address. I'm just hoping that it won't link the two accounts.

It can create a link, just like it would with EB and AZ. But, more often than not, all of these ecommerce sites are smart enough to know that crossing/sharing IPs happens often and is not nearly enough information to correctly identify someone.
