hi all, i shall be looking to set up 5 or 6 stealth accounts over the coming weeks and as im still fairly new to this, i was hoping for your opinions of the best accounts to open.

With paypal there are three options: personal, premier and business. with ebay i think its just two: personal and business (ebay shop?), but correct me if im wrong. so what do you all suggest getting started with?

unfortunately, what i sell falls into what ebay and paypal call their 'high risk' category, so i want to stay under the radar as much as possible.

also, people on here (and the stealth guide) recommend selling slowly to begin with, but how slowly does this mean? a typical item from my inventory will sell for about £20, so should i be selling 1 a day from each account, or 1 every other day? or even just one a week? obviously how many items i can sell per week will determine how many accounts will be necessary to generate a decent income.

any pointers will be greatfully received

Thanks!

I waiting for PP to 'review' my case but I think I l already know the answer. I have £1,300 in there as well. :tears: We haven't a penny left now

Because of financial struggles (caused by PP!) my husband and I have decided to close our company as from today, after 4 years of hard slog its finished. We have 2 members of staff who are out of a job, also. My husband will (hopefully) go back to his old job, but we have 2 young children still at home, one with a chronic illness - so it's pretty hard for me to go out to work, I need to work from home :tears:

We've had a conversation this morning with our company accountant and he's told us to take what value we have from our premies and just walk away, lock the door.

He advised the simplest thing is to open a new company that I can manage. The trouble is when you register a new PP account you have to register your personal details.

I'm desperate for some advice, I'm a genuine business seller but just unfortunate to have become yet another one of PP's victims :tears:

Thank you in advance

Just wondered is this is common. Successfully lifted limits from my account yesterday. Paypal just phoned me today to confirm whether I authorised a withdrawel amount from my paypal account today - which I did. Where they just checking up on me? Or do you think they are getting suspicious with my stealth paypal account? Is this the norm? Anybody else get these kind of phonecalls. I was wondering if they were checking to see if my phone number matched. I only withdrew a small amount but I have been making withdrawels quite a few days in a row ow. Should I cut down on the withdrawels for a bit? Any views.

Just wondering - I still have my real ebay account still open but nearly died a death from previous DSRs, feedback, and lowered performance ratings etc. Can I close this account and then reopen a new one and start again and link again to my original paypal account? Or would this not work? Any suggestions? I do also have my first stealth account up and running but instead of opening another brand new stealth account I just thought I could try and fix my real one first!

Hi. I have visited here on many occasions so I thought it was about time I signed up.

Thought my case may be of interest to some:

I have 85 Feedback with 63 DSR and I am STILL having my payments HELD!

I was under the impression that once one hits 20+ DSR they are no longer held.

Evidently this is not the case.

No real big deal but I am amazed payments are still being held, save for one or two. The account is 4 months old.

Why the different PayPal notification email?

Hi. I've sold quite a few items in the past couple of days. Most of the PayPal notification emails have the format:

"[item number] - Notification of an instant payment from [buyer's name]",

But one of them just says:

"Notification of payment received" and looks different to the others.

Why is this? Is this something to be concerned about? I've checked my PayPal account and the funds are in there, but why would the email be different? The buyer in question only has 5 feedback (4 as a buyer, 1 as a seller) but it's all positive. Next to their name they have a 0% positive feedback score but I assume that's because they haven't used eBay in over a year (last transaction June 09). They've been a member since 2002, but they clearly don't use eBay very often.

I have 100% feedback (162), and my DSRs are all 5/5, so it can't be a problem with me, can it? And I've received payment notifications after that one, and they all have the usual format. It's only that one notification that's different.

I really don't know what to do??? The item costs £70, which I can't afford to lose.

im in the process of trying to set up my first bank account for a stealth paypal account. i went into santander at the beginning of the week and did an aplication in the branch, and the manager said it should all be fine. i had a call today however saying that my appilcation had been denied due to the fact that my credit rating wasnt high enough (i only applied for a standard current account with no overdraft or credit facilites). this could be due to the fact that my registered outgoings are relatively high (mortgages, car payment etc) and my income hasnt exactly been on the record over the last couple of years.

what can i do to overcome this? are there any banks anyone can recommend where i stand a good chance of just getting a basic account. i just did an online application for the co-operative bank, but im worried that the same thing will happen again. has anyone else run into this barrier?

i recently had my paypal account shut down, and even though there are (a small amount of) funds in there for now that im hoping to get back at the end of the 180 day period, what happens if a chargeback or refund is issued for a large amount and the account goes into negative credit? do paypal contact my bank and ask for the money? or even simply just take it? i wont be able to use that account for ebay or paypal anymore, so i'll probably just shut it down and move on to a new account, but what if negative funds arent resolved? does the bank then come after me?

ive seen a couple of foreign posts about this, but what are the UK rules?
