Repetitive, mindless, new threads that have already been addressed - Page 2

With all the balls I have to juggle in a single day, it's a wonder I can remember how to tie my shoes much less every single post here. I assume this won't be as large a problem once the forum is better organized. Have you tried to do a search lately? That's where half my posts come from. I can't find NOTHIN with the search tool!

Search works about HALF the time. That goes for ANY message board.

If there are two universal truths all message boards share, they are:

1. people hate seing the same topics re-discussed

2. search does not WORK.

If you really want to cultivate a useful environment that is helpful to knowledge seekers, respond to their posts with....drumroll...... A LINK TO A POST THAT ANSWERS THE QUESTION. (If search works so great, prove it)

I also think it would be a good idea to create a FAQ database forum with all the "dumb questions" with respective answers that give users ONE PLACE to search. Make it a non-posting forum, just a reference encyclopedia.

Final thoughts- it's just the innernet. Who cares.

Modee does post links to people questions. He have done that plenty of times. But the point is why should he or I or others do it because a lazy asz person doesn't want to do the search themselves or even bother to read the forum before asking questions

Maybe that is why alot of people get kicked off ebay because they dont bother to read the policies and rules???

that's a beautiful bit of information, but the thread topic is so vague that it will get buried. As a moderator, I would change the topic title to be closer to what this thread is really about, so that people can find it in the future. Also I would locate the old threads on this very topic and merge.

Sorry, but the mods aspkin has right now are all incompetent, or lazy. Plus they don't seem to have very good memories, because they don't even remember what was said or what was not. I have a photographic memory for keywords from old posts, so that I can find them and merge with new threads.

You've got profanity, repetitive posts, people posting ads in their signatures, all kinds of abuses.

I am NOT a happy camper with all this.

In the meantime the forum is becoming less and less organized. Someone needs to run the equivalent of a disk defragmentation and optimizer on it. We're heading towards chaos.

This is getting ridiculous. I have spent some time recently cleaning up and merging threads. People, not even just new members, are creating identical threads asking the same questions that have been answered multiple times in the past.

Use that search button, people!

Try the advanced search feature of thread titles only, it really works well.
