Activity: 0% Longevity: 59% | | Why am I logging IP's?
I understand that logging IP's lets you know if you are about to use an IP that you maybe used last week with a different ebay account. BUT, if I live say, in Chicago, where zillions of other people are using their cell phones to go on ebay...surely, someone is the last couple of weeks has used that same IP.
So, why am I concerned with only my own accounts.....I mean, since they are stealth, they share as much or as little, as my fellow Chicago neighbor...why am I not worried about linking to them, vs, linking to one of my stealths?
I hope I worded that where people get my drift? Thanks in advance!

One off sharing IP addresses will not cause too much of an issue, but if you use the same IP address between the two accounts several times then issue may arise. Logging IP addresses avoids that.

Yes, but don't you think that in a city of, lets say 1 million, that same IP gets used many, many times besides me using it?...like many times a day even?

It's a way to link your accounts out of many linking points... I suggest at the very least track the LAST 10 IP Addresses used to access your account(s).

You should always log your IP's - you never know if you have done any other thing to link you on your account and doing that is an extra precaution.
Rather be safe then sorry!!

It takes 10 seconds to log and check an IP address. Why not just do it?
It really will save you a lot of potential issues later one.

I actually do have this question too. I always make sure to use a new ip but eventually I will run out. I do wonder how much of a difference it makes after it has been weeks or even months since have used that IP. I have 1000 ips or something logged now and sometimes I get one from very early on but wonder if I should be worried about using it because it was so long ago.

Try looking at this from this pov, lolzcat.
Like all of use, you appreciate it is hard to keep any stealth account going.
We then take steps to try to prevent 'hassles'.
If logging an IP helps stop a hassle, stops getting linked, then that is letting a user control accounts. ebay/paypal have one less thing to look at should an account being under review.
Here's my all time favorite file for IP logging.... http://www.aspkin.com/forums/multipl...-stealths.html
I hope you can start to enjoy this too.
Best of Luck |

Thank you for the excel spreadsheet but I downloaded that when I first started and it has been of great help
Currently I am approaching it that I never reuse a same IP on a different account but I do know at some point the ip pool will run out. It is then I will decide what to do. I think switching to cable internet will help so I can hopefully hold on to IPs for more than one use.

Its unlikely that you will ever go though all the available IP address.
If you get a repeat IP, just do what ever it is you do to get a new IP. If its another repeat then again do what you do to get a new IP until you do get a new IP address.

Which one are you using?
Running multiple accounts I make a habit of using more than one ISP as well. |

I tether my phone in a large metropolitan area and every once and awhile experience repeat ips. But judging from the range I'm guessing there are like 5000 or so and my dsl has about 2500.
Im thinking of getting a cable internet provider too just because of the amount of accounts being ran

More than one ISP for stealth is sensible. |

i have thought this too. i run each of my two stealth accounts directly from prepaid cell phones, no teathering to a pc, just on the cell. i have two different carriers, straight talk and virgin mobile.
the virgin mobile phones are $70 cheaper and the service is $10 cheaper
i am ready to make a third account and wonder if i can just get another virgin mobile phone, its the keyocera event actually for $30 and make a new stealth on the third phone and not link.
your thoughts op?
i only logged ips my first day making a stealth account with phone teathering with pdanet, but then i just started using it right on the phone
my second stealth was created right on the phone, never a pc.
its just so convient for me working in the field, just install ebay and paypal app and good to go. oh and tapatalk for this forum!

If its on the same network then it will use the same range of IP addresses so you could get overlapping IP addresses.

the ebay app does blow a big one but i work outside its nice to feel my pocket vibrate and at least see bidding activity or sales rolling in. but if i actually have to do anything i open the full site.
ebay has millions and the app looks like a 12 year old made it. paypal app is pretty crappy too but again i like the little alerts when i recieve money or whatnot

I would still avoid the APP
Just check your email to see when sales have been made
Much easier and much safer.

Have multiple ISPs and make sure IPs don't overlap over accounts

APP can lead to easy linking.
Use the browser on your phone, avoid the APP.

I think he is saying that he ONLY USES the app/phone for ONE account. He uses only one ebay account per phone.
