IP address help

I am very new here. Could someone help coach me through establishing a new IP address? I have read I need to create a new IP from my router but other sites say change it right on your mac. I cant figure out how to change my router :(

Why don't you tell us your setup and then perhaps it will be easier for the forum to help....remember, we don't know what service/modem/router your running.

Tethering is another option for people here is the U.S....maybe the same thing up there..if you have an iPhone for example it's super easy...........that's what I use.

You could tether South of the border too.... less hassles in the long run.

You're right I could, but the data fee from Verizon would be like $500 a month for what I use now!!

Many options available through router, tethering, VPN, VPS, etc

if going to use VPN or VPS need to do research & find a reliable company

Depends where you are but I'm pretty sure some other countries support it, think I Rogers in Canada implemented it
