Default Paypal Account Upgrade. Business or Premier??

PP says they want to upgrade from personal to premier or business account. Is it irrelevant which one I chose as far as less limits? Will I have to verify after I upgrade?

For business? Nope, you just need a confirmed and verified account and you're good to go. I have fewer problems with business paypal accounts then regular ones. They're highly recommended.

PayPal does not differentiate between either form of account. Why? PayPal does not verify that you are indeed a business. Common sense.

Aspkin, our PayPals are years old which is why they haven't asked for much verification lately. Nothing to do with that they are "business:" accounts. But if you do not already have a SS # attached to them I guarantee they will ask for that eventually with the new tax regulations coming into effect.
Taxes - PayPal, other credit card processors reporting income (gross receipts) to IRS
I promise that.

Why would an EIN not suffice? Well an EIN would suffice if they could also verify your business entity AND the business has credit.

Otherwise, no.

And if you are in Canada PayPal will ask for documents to verify your identity in some other way. In the UK, they currently do the ID verification via the phone verification ordeal.

Well I went with a business account, but those payments that were blocked have still not been released. They show up as pending under SOLD ITEMS.

When I click them, it still says to chose an account upgrade, but I just did that.

I have been able to take payments since then, but the originally locked payments are not showing up. Cant even see the address to ship them...

Sometimes PayPal asks to see the business docs. Usually not. But they verify nothing they just look at the paperwork. And they know that they verify nothing, which is why they give you no break for being a "business."

Right Paypal doesn't verify your business which is why I recommend creating one. My latest Paypal account is about 6 months old, I started it as a business account, verified it and had it confirmed and it's still going strong. And yes of course Paypal will ask you eventually for a SS#, I did not dispute that but you know what? I have that settled.
