Default How much you can take in before limited?

I am going out on a limb here, but I have not seen another post like this. But it appears that a new paypal account (less than 90 days old) can only take in about $2k in a month before it gets limited with a message stating "as your payment processor, we need more info about your business".

Anyone want to chime in on this with experience on this?

On an unverified or verified account?

Never had this happen myself.

Sounds about right bjammin. I had a brand new paypal that got limited around $1500 and they asked for more information like ID and such...

This was a US paypal with a checking account attached and was AVC CC with a card. SSN was not given. Also, this is not the SSN/EIN request for approaching 200 items or $20k or anything projection related.

Yeah I'm sure PP has different limits for different ages and different things. It's pretty impossible to keep up the algorithm behind this. But good catch now you can use this as a way to measure.

It is my belief that they changed the algorithm (although not confirmed yet). The limits appear to have nothing to do with price; I'm getting them even under $1000. I'm running into a ton of problems with these SSN requests. Only 4 transactions have been in the clear this month, everything else has failed; that's over 10 transactions I've had to refund due to the SSN request because I am unable to provide for stealth.

Following the same principals I have since the beginning. April has been a rough month. Maybe because Paypal "wants their share" for tax season. Between limited accounts and non-paying bidders, everything is such a struggle.

I go way beyond those number BUT this week, change in values and not loading tracking caused paypal limitations.

I truly believe the items being sold, category and priced items in the biggest difference. When I sell $300-500 sporting goods items as a first sale and stay in that category I have no issues at all until I am around the tax info request.

Now when I sell home goods I have TONS of issues with both eBay and PayPal. PayPal does NOT like variations in price in these categories and they are nit picky about loading up tracking. On these accounts if the average sale is say $100 and I sell 150 items over two months I get limited and can not withdraw the funds and they ask for invoices. Makes no sense to me at all.

Business/industrial and sporting goods I have no issues at all to date other than exceeding the tax info request.
