Default 200 $20,000 Limited accounts

Does anyone know for absolutely sure if Paypal locks an account that the lock will be removed the following year or does Paypal still require a SSN/EIN even after years of inactivity?

If they limit the account because you did not produce the information, then my experience is that they will not lift that limitation until the information is finally produced.

If your account is not limited, but you just had warnings then usually in February you will not be asked to produce it anymore.

The first statement could use some confirmation. The second statement is a fact.

They are really two different issues.

What exactly is happening to you?

Ive had accounts that got limited due to receiving too much money then the next year without receiving any email or doing anything they were no longer limited and could use them without any problems

But this doesn't always happen so dont expect it 100%

I have a few accounts that have a warning to add tax information. I stopped selling to avoid a lockout and was under the assumption that the warning would be lifted at the beginning of the year, but it has never happened to all of them.

In my case, the straight answer is NO.

Play it safe.

Once you get the warning, just starting using another stealth account.

I've had many accounts over the 200/20k limit, and I've had accounts limited and still work the next year. Its random, but playing it safe is easier.

Lots of threads about this from January 1st-30th of this year.

Almost all accounts had a reset in 2015 EVEN if the request still showed on the paypal screen. With that being said, lots of reports from 2014 that did not have a reset without calling in.

To be clear, for limited accounts.

For accounts that just had the request, January 1st had the reset and the request notice goes away.

An account with a long period of inactivity ( as the OP mentioned) may not get that luxury.

Not noticed the OP has been back to respond to anything, though.
