Always the way from account sellers, ever their fault. Bearing in mind when I was knew to this the ID documents I recieved from an account seller where so poor its no wonder they got banned...but high risk items was to blame!

Blame something mythical, if it isn't mythical, then post the summary, nothing to lose eh?

Please quote where I have made up ANY reasons for accounts going down. The post I made in public was for another user to stop making up myths before anyone has any facts, but you also do not have any facts you just seem to be stirring it.

I never quoted facts, but High Risk is used by sellers many times.

But still no High Risk list?

So what is high risk?

Seems to be a big opposition to actually summarising 'high risk' , why is that?

A list like this would be very very long and always changing

What is high risk in eBay and PayPals eyes does change.

Use common sense when listing items. Think of it from eBay POV and ask yourself

1 - Is this item replicated a lot and sold on
2 - Is this items very expensive for a new account
3 - Can I prove this item is genuine if I need to
4 - Is this item know to have issues when being sold on eBay or PayPal

If the answers are Yes, Yes, No, Yes then dont sell the item until trust has been earned with both eBay and PayPal

I would say you can take a risk on one of the four answers being the opposite to above, but that would be the person selling on the accounts risk to take.

Common sense really is key here

Thats a good summary James. So to elaborate, I feel this would help others, and also help their accounts from going down if high risk is the case

What price point is deemed as expensive?
What is deemed as a new account?
Every item is replicated - what do you mean?

1 - How long is a bit of string. Really no set answer here. I would say keep the first few payments into PayPal under £30 or so. On eBay it doesnt matter as much all the time, selling a car for example on a new account is pretty much always fine so long as its cash on collection even if its for £8k. Its PayPal you need to worry about here.

2 - See above . When 21 day holds are gone on both eBay and PayPal, when you have decent (50+) selling feedback and the account is a few months old then its not new anymore, but still a newer account.

3 - Not every item is replicated... I am thinking more LV bags, software, watches ect. Imagine your walking down a street in Shanghai full of replicas. If you think its likely your item would also be sold there, dont try to sell it on eBay. This is the point at which common sense must be used

Just for the record these are my opinions and not fact

Ok, so we can generally ascertain that if the above rules are met, and VERO items are not used, then if an account goes down, its not because of high risk items?

Generally yes

Just on a side note, an item can be high risk and not a VERO member company

Yes of course.

Good thread, one to post back to if 'high risk' items comes into play again, then the member can reference what they have been doing.

Last time I was banned was because the account seller used a made up address that didn't exist, and also because the ID documents, now I can see them better through experience, where atrociously done.

But thanks for asking

cool beans

There is always talk of what is high risk, but many people are not aware of what is and what not. Everyone just thinks Vero or branded items is high risk.

I was once told £25 items where high risk because of the price. Well i definitely aint in it for sell £4.99 bits of tat from China

High-risk can be sold ONLY on established accounts, and only if they are not causing lots of issues to the buyers, so they do not report a lot. And if you do everything right, and Adobe products are your best friends, and you really know what you are doing - there should be no issues for a long time.

Then others can not quote things that are metaphoric and somewhat mythical

No proof, it didn't happen.
