Paypal dispute with Aliexpress

I have ordered some dvds from an Aliexpress seller...The dvds turned out to be defective...I cannot reach an agreement with the seller...He wants the dvds back to refund and sending them will be Mega-Expensive!
I paid with Paypal...If I file a dispute with goods not as described, will paypal refund me if I still dont send those back to the seller..I 've heard that purchases outside ebay are not covered..is that true??....Will that also raise a flag on paypal from buying from Alibaba/Aliexpress counterfeiters paradise?
I use this paypal account for ebay...Anybody with a similar story?

Just an FYI....

A good portion of the counterfiets have quality problems. Scratched discs, broken plastic packaging, misspellings, wrong UPC codes, wrong seasons, missing discs, etc.

And, as you just found out the hard way, refunds are not always realistic due to the expense of shipping them back.

I saw one picture on a website of a disc that was supposed to be called "Ice Twisters". The counterfiet version was spelled "Ice Teisters".

My friend showed me something counterfeit that had "Youtube" labelled as Youtobe ha - just horrible.

@alternate, remember that you are NOT covered with Paypal for transactions made outside ebay, sending them back or not. They know dhgate is a big problem and you are SOL - hope your seller is solid guy.

All the best.

You should never use a Paypal account to make purchases off of any site that is known for selling counterfeit merchandise if you use it also with Ebay. Once somebody from Paypal looks at your account history and see that you have made payments to these sites and then looks at your Ebay selling history your account will become limited right away!
Always set up stealth Paypal accounts if you need to pay for merchandise off of those sites.

I would recommend using credit card when possible - besides the possible points you get, you have the option of chargeback handy - you may need it from time to time.

I'll do that from now on...better and easier than open a paypal stealth account

If you paid with paypal and using your paypal balance then no refund will be provided, I have dealed with aliexpress, but then again you bought on aliexpress all are counterfeit, you pay what you get. Not as described dispute will be closed by paypal since you did not buy on ebay, this only applies to ebay items not what you have purchased elsewhere including aliexpress. If you have paid with credit card you would need to call credit card and file chargeback, if you do this, this is against paypal policy to file chargeback on aliexpress transactions as you have agreed to aliexpress terms your account will be limited this is clearly stated and they will do it. Know the person you buy from aliexpress, Aliexpress is a great system with lots of good quality product, but then you have to be careful not the find the cheapest deal on it, if you have found the cheapest deal on aliexpress you will get crap. There is good quality counterfeit and bad all depends on the price, I guess you have received crap quality.

Don't bother shipping anything back, don't waste more money on it, Most of sellers on aliexpress have ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address as we do with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal accounts, it simple will come back to you, this is 50 - 50 chance, try to sell what you have at discounted price. Remember most people that buy 80% of customers don't use anything.

paypal is acctually not working on aliexpress then how it could be possible that you ordered and also getting your money back via paypal. It is like a darama because there is nothing any paypal association with aliexpress and if you are still confuse then check this guide on aliexpress paypal

Re: Paypal dispute with Aliexpress

if you say they were counterfeit, then paypal may not ask you to return them...in this case not sure if that is good idea though, as it ws from AExp, so kinda obvious it would be anyway....

better to say they are damaged, and show/fabricate a pic of a bunch of smashed up cd cases......

SNAD requires seller to pay for return though, if you open dispute - at least on ebay it does, not sure if same for AExp

7 Year old thread.

Aliexpress used to allow PayPal, but has since changed their policy.

On wards we go...

Yeah, but some sellers say PayPal is OK.

They then make the transaction off aliexpress. It is essential to make a credit card payment.

Be aware of how you pay always.
