Default Is there an amount limit w/ someone sending large Paypal amount under GIFT option?

Does anyone know what the amount limit is from sending/receiving Personal Gift payments through Paypal? Has anyone run into problems?

I've had a verified Paypal account for the past 10 years and don't know if they would flag my account over a large amount sent through this option.

Here's the thing. Far far too many users are going the way of gift payments. Where they used to go thro' OK, now paypal are more reactive.
I've had troubles with one receiving payment & two sending payment. They were for registered charities. Now that left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. It was what I called a 'soft' limit. Phoned them & had everything sorted.

An account could get limited for sending $10 or get limited for sending/receiving hundreds to thousands of dollars more.

At best, any one considering accepting a gift for a large amount & stating they have an old long standing account would consider calling paypal to check exactly what to do. Dont risk doing the transaction without covering yourself.
That would be reasonable advice to help protect your account.

IMO do NOT use gift payments. It's your account and you must do as you wish but my advise is to not use gift payments under any circumstances
