One day these companies will actually hire someone that understands their system and the reason it is used, rather than accountants that just keep making more drastic changes in a hope to bring back the users that they are loosing due to their last mistakes.

I dont see how this is any good for paypal. I mean think about the number of people who may just toss an account who may have stuck around before. The number of people who may be willing to fight this if they get a bill. If I sold a computer for $900 and I mean after a month if paypal says I owed them money i might say meh fine i dont want any trouble. But now 5 months later after I may have already spent the money Im more likely to tell paypal to screw off.

I sell vintage and there is no way I am going to offer a 6 month warranty on a vintage item for scumbag buyers to misuse and break.

I once had a cheeky buyer purchase a real tortoiseshell vintage hair accessory from me. She wanted to return it 8 weeks later because she had worn it in the shower and "all the polish had come off".

Fortunately she was outside the (then) 45 day return period so I pointed out that antiques should be treated with respect. She replied "There was nothing in your Ebay descripton to say I couldnt wear in in the shower."

My reply?

"Antiques dont come with a user manual"

Of course they are, they have never been more threatened than by the developments in the Far East with Ali Express and their parent Alibaba heading for the stratosphere with their meteoric rise, happening at exactly the same time that Ebay tries to tighten up its counterfeit divisions! Making Ebay looking old hat and stupid, a master stroke or what!!

Well this is just fantastic news :( the bulk of my business is clothing and I already get screwed with people keeping something a couple weeks then opening a case saying it was SNAD and I get it back with the tags gone and smelling like perfume and covered in deodorant cause they have worn it a few times. I stopped selling formal dresses for that very reason I was getting like a 30% return rate on them coming back worn and ebay siding with the buyer 90% of the time, the scammers usually send it back then open the case the day it arrives on my end, as soon as ebay sees they'd returned it they just automatically found in their favor. 180 days will basically allow them to have something for a whole season then return it. This is a joke. I really wish google would get into the auction game, honestly they are the only company big enough that could truly compete with ebay.

Buyers can file only so many SNAD's before PP dumps the buyers too. Ebay/PP or whatever know that 99% of buyers forget they have an item or where they bought it from after a month.
You don't need six months to scam a seller so what's the big deal. It's a marketing gimmick to promote value/trust in PP.
A legit buyer will not ask for a refund a month or two later just because it's a pathetic thing to do. Normal people have some pride and some class...

Ummmm, what? How long have you been a seller?

People asking for refunds months later is a very common occurrence. The ones who are really a$$holes just file chargebacks if you don't respond. Stop acting like buyers are innocent or dumb and have no clue how to get their money back for nothing. They all know d@mn well and good.

I want to sell items in your fairy land. Zero refunds is pure fantasy.

PP and EB both lose their fees when you refund a buyer. How is this in their interest? It is like they are cutting their throats as well

The issue most have is that the site will be flooded with non normal people. People with lots of accounts just buying and then hoping you forget and throw away the reciept or whatever a few months later and filing a dispute. The worst thing about this is i think ups and usps may recycle tracking numbers at 5 months

Now thats just ridiculous, hopefully they would atleast be wise enough to judge a claim that was opened 175 days after ordering much more favorable for the seller as opposed to a claim open 7 days after ordering

So why not do that a week later. Why wait 6 months? The point I wanted to make is now or later a scammer is a scammer. The turds that steal from me daily don't wait weeks to lift an item. So now they can sit and stare at their hand and do it 3 months later?
So now in the scam world they found out they can go on vacation then scam some one instead of doing it a few days later after a purchase?

If you look at the big picture, it will take out the wholesalers of cheap low quality crap out.
Also it will take out low profitable sellers out because of all the returns which means prices will go up. From a buyer perspective i love this new rule. As a seller I don't really care but i think 120 days is more then enough. What about the feedbacks, are they able to leave them up to 180 days or just 60?

This is the reason I am starting to get my sales more to my new website. I am only selling a few items atm but that will increase right before Christmas comes. My payment processor is through my bank.

It took me 6 months of thinking about it. So I asked my friend to help me out on making a basic website. 1 week later, its up and running.

Are all transactions will have 6 months to dispute or only certain ones.

Do you really think Paypal would screw itself to screw us over. Paypal has made it clear that they will not be refunding the fees after the 60 day period. This is a win/win for Paypal.

It used to be that when people wanted a refund after the 45 day period, they would initiate a charge back through their bank. Paypal would be out their fees and you would be out the purchase funds. Now it is just going to be you being out the funds while Paypal keeps their fees.
