SSN# Required for Business Paypal?

When creating a new stealth paypal today. I chose business instead of personal. And i noticed. Now they require. The last 4 of your social security number. And to verify your identity. In order accept paypal. Please tell me this is not true. And i misread this. Is there anyway around this? Thanks

Instead of making a business Paypal account right away, start with a personal one and then upgrade to a business account. You shouldn't get asked for a SSN upon sign-up that way.

Thanks. Is it too late. To close my account, and make a new personal account. With the same bank account? I really dont feel like making an entirely new bank account, for this. However i dont want paypal. To get suspcious.

This isn't new. They have been doing this for a year or so, however, you can enter any digits and it should go through. However, sometimes now, they limit the amount you can freely withdraw to $100 until you provide proof of identity. It's hit or miss with that one.

I would add that if you are planning on adding an EIN wait until paypal demands it and you have confidence the account will last.

Interesting update for you here marcus! Maybe you can get by with just being able to withdraw up to $100 rather than wanting to withdraw more and so having to provide that proof of ID!

I was wondering about this myself. I have been making accounts and adding random numbers/dob's in but keeping track of what those numbers were in case they ever ask for it again. Does anyone know if they still ask for that info if you go from a personal account to a business account? I think that they do but j/c.

Can you people just ignore the ssn request. Just click the paypal logo and it takes you To your homepage. Problem solved! Continue selling. Sheesh

They are going to ask you for those random numbers you are putting in btw, so you best to jot them down for future reference.

I tried that and eventually they stopped people from being able to send me money until I entered the ss#

then enter anything and keep a note of it. or just do personal accounts
