Default Has PayPal Ever Actually Accepted Someone's Documents?

Hi Guys,

Some of my accounts have been closed (Due to linking, I believe) and I have the standard option to send paypal documents like Bank Statement, proof of ID, proof of postage etc. or to just accept the account is lost and wait 180 days for my money.

It shouldn't be too hard to get what they're asking for, although it will cost a bit of money, and I was wondering if anyone has ever sent in these details and actually got their account re-opened?

As from what I can tell, it seems to be that they just reject the documents by default, although I hope that this is not the case 100% of the time.

Thanks!

If they are asking for the full lot, then the chance of reinststement is pretty low in my experience.

If they are asking for everything bar the kitchen sink then maybe you are better waiting 180 days

But if you have stealth account, how you can get this money back? Or you just add Bank account and can withdraw money?

Will they ask documents before you can withdraw money or you just wait 180 days and then withdraw to any bank account?

Sorry for newbie questions.

Only if UK paypal is feeling charitable.

Keep in mind they have withheld funds from sellers.

Why not fight the good fight and give them what they're asking for? Depending on what you're selling, Im sure you'll have a decent gut feeling of whether or not going deeper or waiting 180 days for funds to clear is worth it. If the money is going to stay in the PP account (no disputes from buyers), give them what they're asking for and see what happens. I've seen good results the majority of the time from sellers who send in doc's. Probably 80% get reinstated.

Thanks man, really appreciate the response; It's incredibly refreshing to hear of an 80% success rate when everyone else is saying there's no hope I should be able to get the docs they're asking for, so will update this thread with their response when I receive it.

Cheers.

Again, it depends the reason the account was limited.

If its for something low risk than sure, there is a high chance the account will be reinstated. If it's high risk than chances are low the account will be reinstated.

Ah ok, thanks. The accounts only sold cheap books (Average sale price about £7), which I would say is very low risk, but I guess they were linked somehow.

it takes 2 things thing to limit an account in my past experience.
an address and cookies will do it - even if you use a return address on shipment

Just a quick update: I sent in documents for 2 accounts last night and already the first one has been restored!

Massive thank you to @Burst, as without your optimism I likely would have listened to everyone else saying there was no hope

FWIW there are so many reasons why an account could get limited by Paypal I only ever had one account limited because I did not submit my SSN or EIN number - the account was 7 years old I put a lot through the account of the the years never had anything happen other than the usual 2-3 charge-backs a year out of 300 transactions per year. I always got my money back because I submitted my tracking numbers.

I find they those accounts become pretty solid once documents provided.

If they do ask for docs I usually prefer it early as the invoices are much easier provided then an account that has a long history.

9/10 of the time they accept my docs.
And yes, it is better and easier to verify new account with less amount of sales
