Default I have a VPS... now what?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the wealth of info so far.

I've signed up for a VPS and have configured it as vanilla as possible. I've been given an IP address which seems to resolve well when I do an IP lookup.

So the question is, what next before I try opening or logging in to an account?

Let me add a bit more detail...

Going to create a new account with a family member with real info.

Going to start with an individual account, unless you guys disagree.

Since this is a real person, it's going to be my longest, safest long term bet, so I want to protect this account as much as I can.

I got all of that covered

Is there anything configuration-wise for this server I should do?

This is not a good idea, in fact a very bad idea. No matter how much you think nothing will go wrong and no one will get mad at each other, it is still not a good idea. Read the forums and you will see countless stories as to why this is not a good idea.

Any commercial vps is a bad idea. Any network admin or customer service agent can easily tell your not on a local isp. And then the account ban comes next.

Using a family members name is not a good idea.
The personal implications may seem to not matter at the moment but in the long run may cause conflicts. Another point is that if using a family members information, what about taxes on their SS#? There are many more reasons not to use family or friends information. If you are going stealth then why not do it completely? You will have to do the same work, using someones personal information will not save any time or be any more secure, it just leaves open the possibility of problems arising. Trust the other posters here on this. Believe it when i say that many of us here have been tempted to use FF members information when first pushed against a wall by eBay/PP. But after learning stealth, personally i am so glad i didn't go down that road. Take some extra time to go over the stealth guide and read this forum extensively before creating any accounts, and you will be able to create accounts that are healthy, stable, accounts with limits you want that have excellent longevity that you need to continually be successful in you online endeavors. Good luck is given, but take the time to read the information given here so freely so you dont accidentally shoot yourself in the foot right out of the gate.

P.S. After my eBay limitation i decided that i will never be caught with just one account that can go down at any time. Starting the aging process on several other account is just good insurance in my opinion. I have to consider how much time and sales were lost trying to get back to selling. After learning stealth i always have other accounts to fall back on in case of further limitations. It can be the simplest silly thing that gets eBay/PP to close the door again. I will be able to just do a few shifts in my selling practices and keep on trucking. Only learning full stealth is that possible.

IAPS, I also have just gone the VPS route, though I have not added an account to it yet. The VPS I chose has a node in my area. Can you elaborate on the issue? I have not seen other warnings about VPS.

You are giving a misleading info trying to promote your service here

Many people on this forum including myself are running accounts via VPS/VPN without issues!

What matters the most is the IP address, it shouldn't be used on a (recently) banned account.

I'm running a handful of accounts using VPN's I have setted up myself on normal DHC* VPS. But If you don't know what you are doing you can use the 24vc Fresh IP's plan provided by @123. (could be expensive but definitely worth the price if you are not experienced with this).
