1p auctions risky ?

I've seen a lot of 1p auctions for various things , desktop photos, recipes etc, how risky is it to buy them on a new account and how risky is it to sell them?

Digital items like desktop photos, recipes etc are waaaaaaaaaaaay risky to sell.

I wouldn't buy them either... btw, you are going to lose the seller's feedback once his account is suspended.

Buying and selling items like that, 2 or 3 times, is OK.

More than that though and eBay see it as feedback manipulation and they can shut you down

@chango, much better physical items to sell - you can even make your own handmade crafts if you feel it

I'm doing ok with about 4 accounts, started with charity shop tat, but lately these items are stalling.. in other words even if I offer them at a few pence loss they are not selling, it doesn't worry me I have the same attitude as JamesNorth101.. do it slowly.. but right I have about 350 items from when my last/only and legit eBay account was burned because of circumstances out of my control . They are small items selling at 1 to 2 £'s. I have started to shift some on the 10/650 accounts a few at a time, but I've noticed that 0 feedback accounts are excruciatingly slow to sell anything and was looking at ways to give them a small but none risky bump to get things started.

i wouldnt do it, i tried it (maybe a bit to quick tho) for same reason to gain feedback, banned in no time, im sure theres better ways

I've actually been buying vinyl records ..there seems to be trend towards the old style LP's made from black plastic.. get quite a few bargains, only good ones not tat.

1p auctions good way to get some feedback on a new account, but don't go overboard

It's a great way to gain feedback, and I really felt the increase in sales, once I had over 100 feedbacks next to my username.
However here are some things to consider:

1) stay away from anything delivered digitally.

2) stay away from anything which clearly states that this is an auction in fact, for feedback - insane, I've seen sellers putting up a pic on 1p auction with words "5 star feedback".

3) Buy 1p auctions which are selling a legitimate item, like a bobby pin/nail/whatever where the seller states "collection only" and doesn't say NOTHING about feedback.

4) If you have access to an address, than here's one more thing to consider - 1p auction on ebay is never really a 1p auction, but rather 6-20p sold, and there are many things on ebay to be purchased for 11-35p, my average is 27p, and I buy things from China which I can later resell, or give away, don't know yet, but it all has already paid off in terms of increased sales. I got big bag filled with my "feedback purchases" all little things of little value, but all together I will probably be able to sell it for about 60-70% of the price I paid for it.

This I feel is the solid strategy, especially if you rotate the sellers you buy from, and buy different things. A bit more expensive, but than again, once you have a bucket of things, you can sell them, if you worth your salt on eBay

I agree , only selling feedback influences eBays decision to increase selling limits.. but all positive feedback influences peoples perceptions of the seller weather it be buying or selling feedback.
