So I have just started using a few of these accounts.
What surprised me was around 4 or 5 days after attaching to paypal and submitting the DD mandate it came back with the standard saver message which goes along the lines of '...your bank has let us know you cannot use account ending xxxx to fund your paypal'.
Now why this obviously causes no real issues with my account at all, I am just slightly curious to why I got this message as Uaccounts can optionally accept DD's and my toggle to accept a DD for that account is most definitely set to on, as I have double checked. Ideas anyone?

That is curious actually. I wonder if they bank noticed the mismatching name on the DD mandate and cancel it due to that? Total guess on my part though!

You can use this site to check if an account supports BACS Direct Debit by simply entering the sort code - https://www.paymentsuk.org.uk/consum...t-code-checker (a message should appear saying Bacs Direct Debits can be set up on this sort code).
DD can take up to 3 weeks to be setup by a bank. Of course PP will try set it up within the 3 weeks, and if it fails, that's when they get in touch.
Remember, its not recommended to use a stealth PayPal + direct debit mandates to fund payments for your purchases as money moving from your bank to PayPal will reveal the name on the bank (and therefore make PP aware there's a mismatch).
Of course if this account is one you use for simply purchasing items, and it has the same name as the bank, then by all means go ahead.
Hope that helps. | The Following 7 Users Say Thank You to Play For This Useful Post: | |

I have recently opened a Uaccount and noticed there is a 2k receiving limit per month. does anyone know if this is per account or is it spread over all the accounts you hold with them?

As for as I have been able to tell it's not clear. I would imagine it's across all accounts, but it's worth asking Uaccount for clarification

You need to have received your card from them and activated it. Then automatically the limits increase to 10k/per month...this was also confirmed by my chat to customer service
