this is my income and what i use to calulate profits and declare them to hmrc, they probably think im paying too little hence why they are doing this check to see if paying the corrent amount.

yes my sales dropped 50% in 15/16 tax year than year before hence why it probably triggered this for me, plus i file my returns very late close to deadline.

i will send all my paypal transactional data they have asked for, so they can calulate for themselves that i havent underpaid or overpaid in tax and have paid what i owe them.

the oly thing is name and address on ebay dont match.
Did you file tax return late or close to deadline, as does not matter if you submitted on time till due date but anything after normally trigger this

Seems like your profit or sales too much up and down cause this issue, to be honest as long as your bank statement match the money you showed in tax return nothing to worry

How did this turn out?

It isn't random, it's a campaign. They got 6 years worth of ebay details off every registered business account around Christmas time. They also now get monthly or quarterly feeds from ebay.

If you used a friends details then they have no idea that the tax has been paid. I've had this stating an employee of mine had income from 2011/12, it's currently on going. We have comprehensive accounts showing it's been paid so probably not an issue but hardly ideal having a third person being queried about something that happened six years ago.

No idea where they will go with stealth accounts
