sometimes if there are problems that can happen.

If connection gets lost, IP could change.

Really scary too.

I take it you can burn through the monthly allowance if Windows, or any software, decides to do an update?

Ive got an EE simcard with a mobile number.

I picked up the contract for £15 a month unlimited minutes unlimited data.

I put the sim into a USB dongle and it works a treat.

New IP address every time I unplug it and plug it back without failure.

If the signal is 4G and drops to 3G, it could happen.

The OP's provider O2 may not have great reception in their area & this happens.

We talked about this in another thread recently.

How about an unlocked HUAWEI E5331? (RRP £45).

Also, can anyone advise on cheapest PAYG SIM for surfing?

Sure that would work well

All much of a muchness. Only a few £ in it either way. It would be better to look for the best provider in your area. No point saving a few £ and not getting any signal.

Main factor is to determine the quality of signal in your area.

One of the users here living in Wales had such rotten luck.

He had totally poor quality of signal. Too slow to even load to complain with the provider

Make sure you avoid that.

Good Luck

Do the IPs change on 3G alone? Someone suggested earlier that the IP might not rotate due to 'poor coverage'. I've checked the major providers, and they estimated 3G for my area.

Thanks.

The IP would change with 3G. If the IP pool is small you would just get a lot of repeats.

Thanks.
Limited pool of IPs true - can reach out to other ISP companies as well...

If I am using dongle, do I still have to log every IP?

Thinking of using multiple accounts with one dongle and reconnect every time to get new ip for each account.

Thanks

Its always best to.

Even using a dongle IP address can repeat themselves.

It takes 5 seconds to log an IP, so well worth always doing

Is listing all IP's in one file ok? I suppose this will be a very long list...

An example formula in OpenOffice calc below..
When duplicate IP entered it will show in result as duplicate in red.

what does IP adress depends from ? is it given from dongle or from sim card ?
for example if i put another sim card into the same dongle am i going to receive same IP's as with the first card or im going to get diffrent ips with diffrent sim in same dongle. and if i put the same sim card into another dongle am i going to get same ips as from first dongle ?
