Default I'm having a lot of trouble with this too!

Having loads of trouble with this too - nightmare getting any of these voip services to work / recognise touchtones.

Seems to be a hell of a lot easier with USA Ebay than UK Ebay.

Yahoo's service works for me in the U.S. They also offer local numbers from the U.K.

Yahoo! Phone - US/UK/France phonenumbers for $2.49 a month

why do people always worry about the phone number used on ebay I have had 4 accounts used under the same household and used the same landline number and not had a problem as people in the same household can all have an account right? Just aslong as its a different name and details

Default 4 is the maximum

You'll find that you won't be able to open anymore accounts with the same telephone number - 4 is the maximum.

gooner90, using the same phone number also means that if one account is suspended, the likelihood of those other accounts being linked and suspended is that much greater.
Most people don't want to risk it.

i havent had that problem and obviously people move house so if accounts have been set up and I moved in to a house they would not let me register?? Also what would happen if somebody had internet but only used a mobile phone and didnt have a landline?

If you dont have a landline number and only have a mobile number then they wont let you register as simple as that.

You cant get round it by saying "oh its unfair, not everyone has a landline number"

If you dont have one you dont meet their set of specifics to be an ebayer which is in their own right to specify, so nothing you can do

I just use the Skype personal numbers. Cost about £10 each. I know people on this forum reckon it's a bad idea since Ebay own Skype, but it's been a year now since I've been doing it. So far so good...
