Default Pay your seller fees with your VCC and NOT with PayPal!!!

Pay your seller fees with your VCC and NOT with PayPal!!!

I just listed my 1st item on Ebay and it asked me if i wanted to

1. automatically pay my seller fees by linking my paypal account to ebay

2. pay with credit card (YES!!!)

I linked my vcc to Ebay so that will be used to pay seller fees (all i have to do is make sure its topped up with at least £100)

If you link you paypal to pay your seller fees then ALL your money can be placed on hold should any issues arise PLUS it links you more to your real details.

Best use vcc to pay your seller fees

Fact has been known for years.

Mixed reaction amongst users as to the method they use.

I always pay with VCC. Of course, stealthers would avoid using a credit card

Here's an golden oldie thread

VCC is the way to go when paying seller fees on ebay...for the UK just add your VCC (making sure its topped up enough to cover your seller fees). Then you can make the seller fee payment before the due date on your account.

The less links that ebay / paypal have the better

In a nutshell, amy.

I use a VCC as a means of controlling what paypal can do to any of my accounts.

paypal is not going to touch any of my monies if I can avoid it

Well it appears I've been doing it wrong for 5 years then. I've always used Paypal to do this and have NEVER had a single problem.

I think you'll find that they can still hold funds in your Paypal account despite what you think.

Always used PayPal myself.

Just make sure there is enough money in there. Never had any issues.

eBay and PP can holds funds regardless of what funding source you use.

VCC / Paying them with PayPal is all fine.. it's not conflicting it's down to preference.

Some people like to 'pay as you go' so they know where they are.

Times change and so do methods.

I've also always used my PayPal balance to pay my fees. Have been doing so for 4 years, no problems at all. I just always make sure there's enough in their to cover them. I usually use the one time payment method every few days.

I believe the danger in using PayPal to pay the fees would be if you did not have enough funds in your PayPal account and they sent a withdrawal request to your bank. I always pay my fees when there is enough money in my PayPal account and have not had any issues.

Some people forget, though and might make withdrawals or purchases with their PayPal and then the fees get auto-deducted from the PayPal account when there is not enough money to cover them. If the PayPal account is REAL and not stealth, this would not be an issue. But if stealth, it could end up with account information being transmitted to PayPal.

I have heard of this happening to people and their accounts were fine, but I wouldn't want to rely on that to stay safe. The same people who say it is OK to cut corners when it comes to stealth tend to be the same people who start posting pleas for help like "5 PayPal's just went down, help me!" and such.

Always better safe than sorry.

While I prefer paying in advance with VCC, your payment by PP also works as long as money is free and clear.

One issue is the automatic payment that eB takes from PP and yes, it's a problem if insufficient funds or money that is being held or money that is under review due to recent sale, etc...

My 3 stealths have been maturing nicely over the past couple of months and fees have been paid automatically via PayPal. Now this thread has got me thinking. Can I change the method of payment without anyone smelling a rate and can I use my entropay cards for this purpose?

I have always preferred to use paypal to pay fees and not had a problem. Only if you are a little careless with a stealth would you get caught out with not having enough funds in there to cover the fees.

I would actually suggest that paying by paypal and having the two linked would make your stealth look more 'natural' and make it stronger.
