Default 25 or 100 limits to start with?

Hi when I started on eBay a few years ago you always use to get 100/3.5k limits but recently iv opened a couple of new stealth accounts and they have both started at 25/750?

Is this common practice now? It's a pain in the backside because starting off with 100 was a nice amount to get started with

Sorry I don't mean they have started at 100/3.5k and 25/750 I mean this is what they went to when I requested higher selling allowances

It changed.

You start with 10 items and when you verify your account with paypal and link it to ebay, it increases to 25 items.

But when you click on ' request higher limits' button and if you are lucky enough to get the request letter button (proving you can get mail at this address) it will increase to 100 once confirming the code.

Alway a very wise idea to have multiple accounts.

Make sure you do not link yourself again.

Good Luck

I have tried to request limits on last 3 accounts and every single one is wanting to send a letter!! Very strange...I have access to 2 fortunately but not the other. Seems very random though.

Were all 3 accounts set up on the same postcode?

The order in which the accounts are created also very much determines whether a letter gets sent when requesting higher limits.

I get a PIN / letter request on about 1 in 60 accounts created.

Yes they were in same postcode. This mean they're linked??

Not necessarily no. There might be 25 people in a row down one street all with eBay accounts, doesn't mean that they all belong to one person with stealth information does it?

Linking is the crossing over of personal information or computer information (e.g. cookies, IP etc)

I'm not sure that's a correct statement either...the first bit maybe but they can link due to other stuff also I reckon.

As Callidus said, no they are not linked.

I have a theory that the letter / PIN is postcode based. This evidence would certainly back that up.

So did you have access to these address's?? Have you managed to lift limits or will you just wait for them to increase naturally??

They will be business accounts and he phoned up or he had access to the addresses.

Because with a new business account that's what you are required to do if you want higher starting limits than 25.

If you plan to do it you need to make sure you have supplier info, all personal documents and invoices. If there is anything remotely "special" about what you sell then it is definitely something to avoid.

They do, with time though. Need to be on your game if you're going to debate calling up. I DO NOT advise to call up if you have already started selling items / receiving feedback etc. If you are going to do it, do it on a brand new account.

As Ebayorbust said, make sure you have all documents

I'm not up for calling them to be honest I'd rather just let them naturally increase. I do not have any business accounts anyway. Personally I don't see the benefits.0

I'd also add that I am taking info from another thread of djb2's where he stated he has 7 accounts and some of them have 100 item limits:-
