Default Ebay Account below standard i owe paypal 12k??

Today my ebay account went below standard. my defect rate is good at 2.2% but cases closed without seller resolution was at 0.34%. i had 35 cases closed without seller resolution out of 10,250 orders. seems harsh but thats the way it is i suppose.

i have had the account for 2 years now i sell low value high volume items around £4 each and past 3 months i have sold 4000 each month and was doing really well but as you can imagine sending 4000 untracked orders each month with royal mail my items not received cases was quite high. i always tell the buyer that they are guarenteed there order or money back but this month i have had lots of impatient buyers escalating the case after only a few days which affected me badly and before i realised it was too late to do anything.

only 3 months ago i got a 18k paypal working capital loan they finally tempted me after lots of emails. all was going well it helped my business grow. i had 10k left to pay on it plus my fees this month are 2k but after my account went below standard all of my listings including 14 on the first page have vanished. my sales today have dropped from an average 130 to only 9.

i was expecting a month of hard work and zero profit as i was going to reduce my listings to boost sales and get my account in good standing again. but it seems like ebay have made it impossible for me. looking at my seller dashboard it says next months is at 32% but it says from may the 1st to the 30th of July, I this is right then its not possible to get it down from 32% unless they calculate it from the 20th may - 20th august. that way it would go down a bit because cases between 1st - 20th of may will be wiped which there is about 5-6. but even then it will not be calculated by my average orders of 10,000 as im selling very little so it will be around 7000 meaning that 32% will go even higher!

any advice or any way out of this i would love to get back above standard and pay my paypal loan off but if not looks like they are not getting a penny off me and i will be stuck with lots of stock.

Try offering the postage for free and send it first class recorded.
Not sure how big your item is but there is is only about 40p+ between them.

Offer an express delivery option (charge for it) and tick the 'get it fast' box and it should boost up your best match search.

You need to respond to all cases before they escalate so you dont have so many unresolved.

Your FOOKED then really ain't ya. They wont let that one go!

Why anyone would take a loan from a company we have to create stealth details to combat the horrific practices of how they work, based on selling from a company that chooses when to throw people off the bridge whenever they feel like is beyond me!

Probably best to get a bank loan, pay them off and walk away. If it was me though, I'd probably check my route, and take the chance at them not finding me. Depends how big your balls are and how well you sleep at night.

Good luck.

You're in murky water immediately with this line

I commented on a thread that eventually got locked as it was heading completely the wrong way...back then (if I remember correctly you said it was a legit account)

I think you know what you have done here by taking that loan....

Jeez, and they just gave it to you without indepth credit check?

Would love to know the legality and liability of this.

Half of me thinks a decent brief would expunge you of all debt liability. The other half thinks you could be in serious crap if it all went Pete Tong if found out.

What was your viewpoint when you took it?

thanks for advice i already offer all of this though, i send orders as a large letter 74p resulting in a 50p-£1 profit. cheapest recorded post costs £2.20 so i would make a huge loss

I dont know what else to suggest then because you said you wanted to make a loss anyway to save your account?

But this is the only way besides increasing the price to account for the extra tracking.

You would lose less cases & have less claims with a tracking number, and a lot less freebies given out by ebay siding in the buyers favour. (where you end up losing the £4 + postage)

If you go to far over the threshold with cases on ebay you account can get closed to.

as said above its a variation of my name for example dave instead of david. street that i lived on in the past but with wrong number and when they do the credit check on payal when you create account to get all limits removed it passed. so im not really sure if thats classed as stealth or legit?

It wouldn't pass though if the house number didn't match....but anyway, looks like you either need to make a huge loss or pay the £12k back.

Either way, your going to get shafted. Either you do it to yourself, or bend over for a big Irish sized wallop up your backside

why would i go and get a bank loan to pay them off? not forgetting i have 18k worth of stock from the loan i can sell on another account. my main concern is if i can rescue this account as it would save me alot of time and messing listing it all on a new account. if not i will not lose any sleep over this they can come looking for me and by the time they find me hopefully i have made the money back.
