Bt hub ip address

I have just had fiber installed by BT and is it easy to change the ip address with this setup?

I have virgin media and run their modem/router in modem mode only and have my own wifi (1 gig with dd-wrt firmware). To change ip i simply log on to wifi and change mac address by one number save and shut down. Then reboot the modem then reboot the wifi and voila a new ip address. record the mac address and new ip on a spreadsheet. In all my recording of ip address i have only had one ip address re-issued after an 18 month period.

That is what I was thinking, sounds a bit like changing local address rather than external IP. Don't people realise there are two.
