assume you can sell them on your own website, we are discussing ebay here.....does not mean you will not get contacted by rights owners though regardless....
I had a lead of used hardware with key on it from legit dismantlers, the parts are more valuable than a dead, broken or out-dated laptop etc....and I decided not to do it on ebay or elsewhere, it was too much hassle and no point losing an account over selling these, not much money in it compared to safer alternatives anyway...
The 1st question that arises when I see read people say they have access to keys is....Are these keys legit? stolen? If Yes to either then don't bother.

I wanted to set up a website to sell them.
A website doesn't give any protection, further more Microsoft can take you to court.

However one of my friends advised me not to do it as I will need to have a license to sell.
Jail? Most likely not but your friend has the right idea about not selling them.

Is it true that I can't sell them on website even if they are legitimate? My supplier has the license though.
If your not an authorized reseller just find another item to sell.
99% of all keys available at the market are non-genuine. So, you want to sell non-genuine keys. If you'll do it at your personal website, you may face legal issues. If you'll do it at ebay, you will get banned. So... the choice is yours.
