Default Halifax saver

Hi, Not sure if anything has changed with the Halifax saver (to which I have had no problems before) but last week I have had 2 accounts where the DD has been rejected by PP - subsequently 1 of the ebay accounts connected was closed due to security concerns no other info - possible connection?

Anyway I will be staying away from halifax from now on

Well, if you added the saver the correct way then you could of avoided the DD being submitted. I don't think the eBay has anything to do with that to be honest.

Halifax isn't the issue, it's how the accounts are setup.

I've not had any problem with Halifax savers and I've created two accounts this week. I think your negative experience might be down to other aspects of account creation, rather than the bank account itself.

Best way to use savings accounts on Paypal:-

1. Add the account in the normal way. Submit the DD mandate so that the code is sent to the account.

2. Enter the code to verify the account.

3. Remove the saver. This automatically cancels the dd mandate and means the bank won't subsequently remove it.

4. Re-attach saver by clicking "Withdraw". Do NOT resubmit the DD mandate.

If adding a saver to an already verified account (for example a purchased one), then only do Step 4.

Richie, were you following the steps like ebayorbust posted?

The whole 'how to add a savings account' should be a sticky in the uk section.

Best way to add savers is via the withdraw money section.

Hi. I attached halifax current account to my ebay. Secondly, is it complusory to submit the DD? I just ignored it. My account is only at 80% setup and I am okay with that as long as withdrawal is going on smoothly

I remember my barclays savers account was removed once because of DD issue, I wasn't able to add it again, was getting error that it's not possible at the moment, please try again later or similar. Well, I've called PayPal as only wonderful people works there (I wish so) and lovely lady just asked if I understood "wtf have happened and why it was removed of my account?" - I answered that I believe that there was not enough funds in my account to cover payment....and yuppeee, lovely lady completely removed account so that I was able to add it again - No issues after that

How soon after attaching the saver do you remove it?

In order to do step 4 (reattach saver via withdraw) do you need funds in the account?
