Activity: 0% Longevity: 56% | | Update to UK Business Account?
Hi guys!
I'm running well a Stealth account for the last one year with 100+ Positive Feedbacks and selling mostly watches and jewellery.
I'm keeping the account with up to 25-30 sales per mount because all items are in high prices. I'm trying to split them into a few stealth account.
Two of my account now are qualify for Top-Rated Sellers and I only need to update to Business account.
I couldn't find information about is that a good idea or not.
What would be the advantages or disadvantages of that?
Should I update ebay and PayPal to business if that let me selling more without worries?
Did PP know if my bank account is business or personal and is that matter?
What do you think guys? |
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Thanks James,
what about the sales? If PayPal detect high revenues per mount can ask to upgrade as a business or limit the account and asking to provide more information and update as a business.
This is what happen with one of my account! I'm still fighting with PP.

This would be because an individual wouldn't be selling to the levels you are selling at.
I have (in the past) never gone over £5000 per month mark on any 1 account.
Even now you could probably knock a bit off that as things have tightened up and there's nothing to say you cannot run more accounts to lessen the risk.

3. The who will be scammer think they can take the mickey out of you since you are a business, you can shoulder it more than a personal account plus a personal account looks like someone trying to make ends meet.
4. They think once you are a business then you are rich, more money in the bank and a little scam does not matter to you.
5. Targeting a personal account could means looking for trouble. A personal account is more likely to fight tooth and nail while a business account can just overlook.

You will just need to update your Ebay to business. No need to change your Paypal

Nice one fellas. Sorry don't want to hijack this thread but on the same subject and think it'll also help OP.
Would changing to business eBay account require documents submitting? I'm in the same predicament have two accounts qualifying of TRS just need to make the eBay a business account. But don't want to lose it all if it will bring the acounts under unnecessary "heat". |

Thanks to all replys guys. That is getting more clear now. Just wondering what Paypal would think If you are with Business eBay and Personal PP? Is it just enough to keep sales under £5000?

Depends on many different things, as you can imagine- The account itself, how old it is, how you've set it up and what are the patterns. Also what kind of items are you selling, how many, whats the total amount you are doing, if you have any returns/cases opened against you and so on.
There have been few mentions in the past about users trying to keep it under 5k a month, just to be on the safe side but in reality, nobody really knows what triggers it. Seems like few very experienced users have noticed a difference at 5k, so people tend to agree on that number.

I would say their normally caused by irregular activity. i.e. your selling cellotape, and all of a sudden you decided to sell a batch of iPhone's. That batch of iPhone sales would usually go on hold. This is usually regardless of how long you have been on ebay/paypal.

What about PP? You keep EB as a Business but PP is Personal I guess at some time they will ask you to proof what's your business and ask for papers? Why you should keep PP personal?
Thanks all!

I usually sell one type of products ( same models/ quantities) almost every month from about a year. Do you recommend I should add some more types and keep it different? I'm selling few different models but same category.

Thanks all! | Most of my ebay and paypal accounts are business.
They may be a few where ebay is business, paypal is personal and vice versa. But in all honesty, I dont get suspended, I have accounts that have been running for (I really cant remember how long, because its so long)... I just dont think its worth kicking yourself over something as simple as business or personal.. its such a fickle matter.
If you want to play it safe, go for business on both.

My point was, if all of a sudden you sell something completely different, with a substantial value difference, in can go into hold for 21 days.
