Does ebay track & log info about me even if I’m not logged into ebay?

Hi All

This is probably a really stupid question and probably shows my paranoia.

Does ebay still track and log information about me (IP Address, cookies…) even when I’m NOT actually logged into my ebay account when I’m just simply browsing the ebay site anonymously?

I plan to have a dedicated laptop and a second separate broadband account used exclusively only for logging into my stealth ebay, paypal and email accounts using this dedicated laptop and dedicated broadband.

My concern regards the question above is if I accidentally use my dedicated laptop on my other broadband connection (which ebay already knows about as it’s IP address is associated with my original permanent suspension) and simply just browse the ebay site anonymously – without logging into ebay, can this potentially still expose me?

Every website you visit....can track your IP address and what you do on their website....even if you aren't logged in to their site. When you say anonymously, are you referring to using ebay not logged in?

Let me put it this way, if you log into ebay with the same IP, Cookies.....and you don't log in to ebay, they still know its you.

If this happens once, twice....it will not destroy your accounts, I've accidentally done it myself and all my accounts are just fine.

Many thanks for clarifying this.

It's highly unlikely that I would ever use my stealth laptop on my other 'linked' broadband for non-logged in ebay browsing, but just wanted to be sure just in case I ended up dumbing out!
