Creating paypal account, issues with address and bank

Hi all, I just got a new basic bank account with hsbc and they gave me a debit card. Problem is when signing up for paypal I cannot add it to the new account.

1. I created the new account with a single letter misspelt in my name - changed a s into a z (surname was kept the same).
2. The address I used is one door down from me (is this even a good idea, probably not right?) I used a new ip, phone number etc.

3. Now when it asks to add a debit card I tried to add this and obviously it wouldn't work since the names and addresses are different right? I guess I need to sign up for entropay.

But then I tried to add it as a bank account and it keeps giving me an error. Could it be because I have no money in the account yet? I used PCA Predict - Address Verification and Data Quality services and it says everything is fine so I don't know what has happened. I thought I read paypal cannnot find out the name of your bank account so it should've been fine in theory.

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

You cannot add a real card to a stealth PayPal you would need to use a VCC (entropay for example). Just make sure you have a £5 balance in the Entropay VCC when you add it

You would also want to make your account using very different details. Being 1 door down and then 1 name on the surname changing isn't really enough.

1. Choose a completely different name, or use a similar or same name but a different address.

2. As above, you will need a completely different address. Same town is fine.

3. You dont add your debit card. If adding a credit card try entropay as mentioned. You can then add your sort code and account number to add the bank account. You then verify the account when paypal submit the direct debit instruction. Login to your online banking and find the 4 digit code paypal have sent you. Login to paypal and add the code. Your account is now verified.

Ok well I signed up for entropay and used a different address etc. and have successfully got a paypal account however I cannot for some reason add the bank account i tried 3 times and still it won't accept it.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

EDIT: It says

We're sorry, but that bank can't be linked to any more PayPal accounts. Please link a different bank account

even though it has never been linked to an account before.... I guess I can try a savings account or do those no longer work

I'm thinking EDIT2 means he was trying to add the wrong bank
