Replying buyer emails. Revealed my IP?

Instead of Log in and reply "ebay messages". Can I just click reply on email: XXXXX has sent a question about item #1234567. and reply directly to buyers email XXXXX@members.ebay.co.uk.

two questions.
1) will this reveal my IP to EB?
2) will buyer get my message?

Who are you using for emails?

You can do this with Gmail

Yes I am with gmail. not showing images.

But is it true that when I log in to eb it will still showing "unread" message?

Gmail is perfect.

I doubt it would mark them as read. I have never taken notice to be honest.

yes it will still show them as unread. I reply with gmail from my cell phone all the time and I have not had an issue in the past 2 months.

Yes defo leaves the messages as unread,.

It marks the messages as read, but there is a delay maybe a few minutes, so if you respond and log in right away it will show as unread, but if u wait 5-10 minutes than it will be read

It will only show as read if you've actually replied.

If you read the message via email it'll still show unread when you return to ebay
