to set the story, i have a uk ebay account, set it up for selling fully verified, made an item to sell, which worked fine then as was about to list i got this message (Thank you for participating in global trade on eBay. In order to begin selling your items on eBay sites not associated with your home country, you will need to take a few steps please remember that ebays policy states you can list an item on .co.uk if you registered here, which i am, anyways i had a chat with the agent which i copied and pasted below and i even asked permission from the girl to do this, any suggestions are welcome but even more so this is hillarious, if this idnt enough evidence that the left doesnt know from the right what is!!

i had the same thing happen.. try to listing on eB*com with a US reg account, and it kept giving me the same BS message. also. . i contacted live help as well, went through the same kinda marathon chat too.. no help.

when that happens, just drop the account and start a new one.. that is the only thing i can suggest
