Default 21 day holds for NOT a new account

Hi,
anyone of you experenieced this notification from PP UK ?

Based on your history as an eBay seller, we may temporarily hold the money from each of your eBay transactions in a pending balance. We may hold this money for up to 21 days from the date we let you know it is "OK to send" the relevant item. Other restrictions may apply.

Account is 60-90 days old
ALL VERIFIED and EU Limits lifted since a start

got 50+ feedback.
100% positive
DSR 4.9-5.0

Not a single damage.
No high risk items.

Money in PP is always more than needed to pay for fees.

the only reason i might think .
Have sold 72 items from 90 this month
No spikes, nice 2-5 sales a day for last 45 days

on one of mine it goes from 21 days down to 5 once i mark as sent with tracking number, on the other 2 it makes me wait the whole 21 days, plus theres a blue countdown graph which marks 10 sales and then 60 days as a seller

Yep this happens, even well established accounts it has been known to happen to. Numerous factors are at play here you will probably not be able to fathom the exact reason why so just keep doing well, adding tracking numbers, no disputes and it will dissappear, normally within three weeks.

Holds can come and go on accounts regardless of age

If your account is between 60-90 days then in the eyes of PP it is marked up as a new account, they can and do put restrictions on accounts at any time usually when there is a change in account activity - which in your case sounds like there is.

Its still seen that way after 90 days in many situations. Lots of factors are at play, not just a single reason.

They can put these holds on any accounts, no matter of age or transactions. Just keep up the good standard on the account and hopefully the holds go away again soon.

There is a single reason for holds.

It is because pay-pal makes the choice to apply them.

That is the single reason.

I noticed that on one of my accounts today, two payments through, two held. Not consecutively either.

Seems like they are testing new system processes...should be fun.lol.

It boils down to trust with your account and types of payments received. It doesn't seem to matter age of account which is a bummer.

Agree - and if types of payment suddenly change and the security status of a no-holds account is changed, then the hold can be re-imposed.
