WOuld like a recomendation for a free autoresponder -wordpress

Im looking for a free auto responder for wordpress. I came across free autobot but dont like all the emails it send out. I tested it out and it sent an email asking my opt in list to use autobot.

Now if subscribers get emails like this then they will opt out of my list.

Im not sure if there are any free auto responders out there. I dont mind if the companies details are on my emails but I dont want them sending emails out that I dont set up.

If there are no good free ones then could someone recommend a good one that is reasonably priced?

I now have a few word press sites and would like to use one for separate sites so that I can organise what emails go out to which subscribers

Also is there a opt in form plugin that someone could recommend. I am currently using faster im opt in. Its the first one I came across and am sure there is a better one available. Im looking for something that I can add to the sidebar

It's not a good idea to go the free route.

It's better to go with a real auto responder service like Aweber or GetResponse.

The reason is once you start to build up your list, you'll want to use it more. Now after awhile if you're sending emails from your own server and not watching spam, email service providers will begin to block your emails.

Using a service like Aweber and GetResponse work with the email companies to make sure this doesn't happen. They're pretty cheap too and have nice tools to increase your subscription rate.

I use GetResponse myself, but Aweber is said to be the best.

Thanks for your reply aspkin. someone else advised about the same thing. The company that ive taken it up with now offer a free service and whenever I need to use it more I have the option to upgrade with the same company for the pro version.

I also looked at aweber and getresponse but felt that I would be really suing them until after a couple of months time. So at this present moment I think ive found the best solution - this will also help keeps cost down.

TBH ive always ended up making choices and then slapping myself later on for making the wrong decision.

I can see another one coming on with this choice ....

The thing is that im new to generating a mailing list and am just starting out, the site that I want it for will not be making me much to start of with and I wont be using it for a couple of months until I start to get traffic. I dont even know if anyones gonna want to join the list.

Ive got a few sites that I run now and am testing new methods - getting an auto responder is a must but I want to keep track of what im spending and what im earning on each site.

Everyones recommended aweber as the auto-responder and as soon as I see the need of auto-responder then I will look deeper.

For now its just a bonus to have a free opt in list and a autoresponder to get the feel of things
