Hi all, I've just started a new stealth ebay/paypal account combo and was attempting to purchase an item off ebay. Both addresses match and I have access to the address so delivery wouldn't be a problem.
It's just that the last three items I purchased have been refunded back to me by the seller. Is this due to low buyer feedback or something else?
Thanks for any help

Thanks for any help | Yes, most likely. I do this occasionally as well if I've put in the listing that low feedback buyers need to email before purchase.

It could be your feedback. It wouldn’t hurt to contact one of the sellers and ask so you know for sure

Thanks I think you guys are right,
I also think it's because they are high price items £100+, I'm going to just purchase some cheap items to build my feedback.

Asking the seller would be the best way to find out

Just message the seller and see what they say.
We all have the right to refuse service. =)

Everything goes so much smoother having an account with 10+ feedback it’s a pain building up new accounts I always undercut everyone until I get a decent feedback score

if a seller cancels order and use the excuse that both seller and buyer agree to cancel or buyer ask to cancel,Ebay would not punish the seller.
else it would give the seller one strike, multiple strikes could lower his ranking ,worst is he would not be able to sell on Ebay.
If he does not want to sell, then why is he listing the item for sale?

I always find striking a conversation with the seller builds confidence first before placing any bids or buying. Especially with expensive items.

100 GBP is not expensive, unless it is a rather rare product or product prone to dispute/return like buyer never understand how it works,or misunderstood how it works.or/and does not know enough to make it work.
low feedback buyer could be a seasoned ebayer ,most have multiple IDs to buy,to sell,to chat,to browse and to do mischief.

Seller sees a brand new account trying to buy a relatively expensive item, seller gets nervous fearing a scam, seller cancels order.

Ebay does not like such seller behavior, there may be some updates on Ebay policy on seller cancelling order, cant recall details.
I know if it is an auction and seller removes the listing before expiration and there are bids ,seller would pay the FVF of that item.

eBay is flexible with allowing sellers to cancel orders if it's justified. Just look at APMEX. They probably have a 50%+ cancellation rate since they are very strict with their shipping policies (address MUST be confirmed PP address, etc..)
Anyway it's hardly relevant but I don't think the seller in this case will get in trouble for cancelling the order.

You can refuse sale to whoever you want. A local gay couple got POd when a cake business refused to put a gay couple on the top. Private property in that case too, so get the f out |

Not if you do it right. You can infinitely cancel orders with the reason "buyer requested cancellation" and not get any dings in your seller dashboard. There's no action required on the buyer's part when you do that - it just cancels and refunds the order on the spot. I've seen sellers get negative feedback from pissed off buyers saying something like "seller lied and said I wanted order cancelled!" but I haven't seen account go down from it.

what Ebay does not want to see is the buyer and seller decide to complete the purchase outside Ebay,it is called fee avoidance,so either an Ebay rep or Ebay bot would look into your mail folder to see if there is such intention.
But with auction,if you cancel a listing with bid(s),you pay the FVF.

APMEX buy gold from indviduals and if they are not in good condition, they sell them on EBay.
Precious metal dealers have agreement with USPS,they dont have to ship registered mail like before, they can ship USPS priority and get special treatment.
APmex also have a guy who knows USPS to call the right person if there is any problem, once I bought a gold coin and the mailman signed it and left it in my mail box.
I called APMEX and he immediately contact USPS and came back and said the mail man did not sign my package, she just swiped it by mistake? and left it in my mail box.
It is in my mail box alright but she did sign my package.
I believe they are the largest precious metal dealer in US.
If you see one of the items they have on EBAY,GO check out its website, you may be able to buy it for less if you send money order, personal check or wiretransfer (see you are saving them PAypal fee and Ebay fee, wink wink!!)

Perhaps the new paypal policy about not refunding the payment fees will make a difference in this sort of scenario.
