Activity: 0% Longevity: 36% | | Discounts for high volume EB sellers?? (eVs, Smartpost)
To those sellers who sell 300+ items per day (first class pkg, weight between 4oz and 12oz); is there a way to get a cheaper deal on shipping than the current rates?
I've seen some sellers use economy shipping such as DHL eVs or FedEx Smartpost, where the USPS will handle the delivery while DHL/FedEx handles the first leg of the shipping journey.
I'm wondering if anyone has looked into this and what the prices/volumes are.
Thanks!

I dont think there is anything cheaper than USPS first class.
you get the discount when you print the label on Ebay or Paypal.
You can always call DHL and ask,DHL service is lousy,

There are some folks who are members of this DHL shipping business, you join them and they offer you a discount, one is called INXPRESS.
You can ask this guy,he has a website if there is any discount using DHL domestic shipping.
I looked into INTL shipping, not much cheaper than USPS priority but it does have tracking all the way

I've applied on DHL's website for bulk domestic shipping. DHL calls it their eCommerce division. Let's see what comes out of it.

DHL is much bigger than Fed Exp and UPS when it comes to worldwide shipping.
But it just cant crack the US market.
If you need to ship a package overseas which require tracking and /or signature which USPS priority does not provide, then DHL is for you.
INXPRESS will give you a discount for being a member.

I think they've gotten better recently. It does take longer than the first class pkg shipping though. But if I can save some $$$ on shipping - considering my volume - that'd be very substantial.

if it takes too long, buyer can file item not received or ask you to cancel the order, then you lose money.
raise your shipping by 25 cents?

Yasav - unless your average shipment is in the 2-5lbs range I seriously doubt you'll find better rates through any of the private courier/USPS partnership mail classes. Yankee and I were talking about this years ago. He was telling me at the time he uses Surepost occasionally for medium sized shipments and he was given access to that class through a contract with UPS.
Smartpost, PS Lightweight, Surepost, eVs, are all more expensive that First Class Mail unless you're shipping on Amazon's level and can negotiate some killer contract rates.

4- 12 ounces,USPS first class package is still the best deal in town, unless it can go USPS first class envelope with 1/4 inch thickness or media mail.
why not just raise shipping fee by 25 -35 cents

I would think he will lease a van from some finance company or AMZN with the prime logo and access to some AMZN warehouse features/
WMT employees can sign up to deliver WMT packages after work.they dont have to quit, just use their own car

AMZN workers must make more than $19k,who said they make less?
They also get x number of shares of AMZN stock if they stay more than x months.
Using ex employees to deliver the last mile,in the future,if they ever deploy drones,Fed expects someone to monitor these drones within x number of feet,so these guys can stand around and monitor drones !

So you're saying Amazon will allow their employees to quit and become freelance drivers for them. I'd rather just work at the warehouse if I had to pick.

AMZN is unloading some of its fixed cost to third party,in a recession,it will have less fixed costs to deal with.
The last mile is expensive!

The last mile is expensive! | I'm sure they're compensating their employees for mileage though, right?

you keep referring to these future drivers as employees.
They wont be employees anymore if they start their own delivery business.
The FTC or is it another Fed organisation has something to say about using drones,it can only fly yeah high and someone has to be there watching them within x number of feet area?
But then some explosive packed drones just hit Saudi oil facility!
In Holland, the police trained eagles to attack drones in areas where drones are not allowed.

Ok whatever, freelance drivers then. My point was that they're still paying for the final mile whether they use a freelance driver, a courier, or their own delivery company. Not much more to be discussed on this topic, lol.
I'd like to see the trained eagles taking out drones. Sounds very unreliable. Holland's enemies will soon start disguising their drones as sexy bald eagles which will render Holland's Eagle Force useless. Instead of attacking they'll start trying to mate with the drones.
