Default Live Frog in my backyard

I went shopping for grocery today and I saw at the seafood section, there are buckets of large green frogs and turtles.
So I decide to buy one frog and see if it will strive in my backyard,I asked the clerk if it will live,he thinks so.
The frog jumped out of the paper bag at the checkout and caused a big stir ,but an expert is called in to capture it and return to the paperbag.
I released it into a big bucket of water, in my backyard .it then jumped out of the bucket and hid behind some flower pot,I noticed it has changed its color to a dark dark dirty green, very unappealing !
Now my question to you folks is would it live?
would it have babies ?
Must it live in water .near lots of water or just outdoor green trees etc is good enough.
These frogs are farm raised as food, like salmon .

Weird post by why not

I expect in order to have babies it would need to have another frog about. They need to first date, then fall in love, get married and then plan for years for a baby. Start a college fund and then when the time is right, based on the female frogs ovulation cycle, start trying for a baby.

Either that or a one night 'never see the other frog again' stand

Best post you've ever made, agent.

My opinion - a farm raised frog isn't going to do very well in the wild because it's never had to survive in the wild. The change in color was probably an attempt at camouflage.

With that being said, I applaud the effort you've made freeing that frog and trying to give him a chance at a nice happy life with a spouse and children.

Frog legs are big in the south.. maybe that's what he's for?

Maybe create an artificial environment for him inside and see if he does any better? He is used to being on a frog farm, after all.

FWIW, Obama likes frog legs:

Usually after the frog is dead...just saying.

Their legs are full of protein in the meat and other good things.

They also are used in casseroles.

Southern State love their frogs to eat.

Haha, there's lots of anecdotal evidence suggesting it was a frog leg. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a gimmick to help him win the approval of southern voters.

We used to sell frog legs at a seafood market I worked at through my teens. Naturally all of the customers would say "it tastes like chicken" (just like with every other type of weird meat we sold there). I have my doubts.

They like to sit on the road after the sun's been out. We used to run over them at 5am on the way to work with the windows down - they go POP. Not intentional

Wouldnt say like a cat or a dog. Primates I just learned are able to use verbs which shows they're able to interpret/reflect on their surroundings. Frogs have got nada upstairs. Movement/sound = bad hah.

Rain, tall grass, PONDS, should be fine. Unless a snake gets him or the neighborhood cat

That trade has actually diminished over the years. Used be India & Bangladesh supplied such frogs.

These days Vietnam has more of the market.

At the moment, Bangladesh has had to ban coastal fishing because of inferior practises.

We still see farm raised prawns from India and Pakistan at WMT but not Kroger, tiger shrimps from Thailand.
Live lobsters in tanks come from Canada, thats why it is cheap!not Maine.
Alaskan King Crab legs from Russia

Frogs can squeeze into small nooks and crannies to get out if needed...or to hide.

we do have a receiving pond behind us,after heavy rain,it becomes flooded and many ducks will be swimming and egrets looking for food, this frog is too big to be eaten in one setting.
Sometimes there could be 30+ white egrets, sometimes 30+ brown birds with orange beaks?
