Activity: 0% Longevity: 28% | | does paypal ever lock you out of funds forever?
does paypal ever lock you out of the funds forever? ive not had that problem before but i think i read it somewhere here. im in the USA btw. i havent seen it happen before i always get it after 180 days but im not sure im paranoid after reading it here.
can they ever just lock you out of it forever? and never give it back? even after that time. whats the action to do after that? i saw some stuff on here where they gave out a link to take action against paypal but i dont know much about it.
as long as you have a bank in the same country as the paypal was set up in you get the funds back right?

I had an account after 180days couldnt withdraw asked why they asked for copy of ssn and drivers license. because they wanted to make sure i was owner of account.

They’ve changed this year, I would advice you to have a bit of hope - say your prayers and that lol
BUT don’t depend on whatever funds are in there
I made a bad mistake, I was expecting them to release my funds of £1500 between 2 accounts this May, and even made plans with that money
However, they are requesting docs etc, and the account is stealth after all so not looking likely they’ll give my money back
Regardless, all the best - I’m UK based btw

Yes, PayPal can legally keep your funds indefinitely if they suspect fraud or they think your funds were obtained by illegal means. It's in their AUP.
PayPal is referring to Section 9.4b of their User Agreement. Refer to the link below and read the section 9.4b (Risk-Based Holds) https://www.paypal.com/in/webapps/mp...reement-full#9 ** WARNING - PAYPAL LINK **
The relevant part is:
"(b) PayPal believes that you have violated the terms of this Agreement or any other Policy and that such a violation results in the need to continue holding the funds, or (c) PayPal believes that you may be engaging in potentially fraudulent or suspicious activity and/or transactions. In such an event, PayPal may continue holding the payment in your Account until the matter is resolved pursuant to this Agreement."

but if they havent done it before they probably wont do it now right? there has to be some way to get it back without showing them whatever they want. ive never had them do that before they just asked for documents and if i didnt give them those they just limited and released funds later

They caught a guy who is selling on Ebay ,he received payment in his paypal account and he uploade tracking to the listing but he never ship anything.
Someone must have snitched,he was receiving money from overseas ISIS to fund domestic activities.

They’re holding my funds past 180 day’s
After giving all the “creative” documents, had no joy
They’ve pushed it to a Executive escalation (beyond the supervisors)
I’m giving it till end of this month, they’ve got £600 in one account and £1000 in another both in the same situation
If they don’t release the funds just gonna delete the accounts and bank
But obviously I am gonna get that money back lol
When you know your accounts gonna get suspended (after. Xmas)
Before that period make a **** load of sales on top of normal sales like £6/7k
Withdraw the money - buyers gonna do charge backs
Unlink bank and let PayPal deal with the mess, they’ll be easy £6k out of pocket and that’s profit for me
Buyers will obviously get refunded due to PayPal’s policy
And PayPal will pay from its pocket
I got nothing to lose I’m giving up on stealth after this year anyway
Gonna go Bahamas drink cocktails with some fine broads
Mad scientist out

Stealth’
You can not delete a limited account.
FYI, PayPal UK changed its operations November 2014 or 2015. There is a long list of users whose held funds were not released. Serious news then and now. It is still happening. | The Following User Says Thank You to GreenBean For This Useful Post: | |

Mad scientist out | around Xmas, both Ebay and paypal heighten security, ebay sellers could be asked to show vendor invoice, payments could be upheld longer after tracking shows delivered.
dont book your plane ticket too early,

PayPal can, and still does keep some account holders funds forever.
This forum is full of countless threads from people who have been unable to get their money out past 180 days. I have a client who has multiple stealth accounts and nothing worked, even using the BBB or Executive Escalations. At that point PayPal would just cite violation of their User Agreement and refuse to communicate any further.
The only remaining thing you could do is take legal action in a court of law. This is hardly a viable option when the account details are stealth. PayPal knows this and will dig in their heels not to give your money back until they actually receive a summons.

I talked with a USA rep a couple months ago. They are holding over 4k USD on my limited account.
She said I would get the money after 180 days and even gave me the exact date I could get it.
This account was limited after I submitted a creative ID. Products all legit and solid on eBay.
I'm sure they will keep funds forever, but you really gotta be doing some shady ****.

you should get an email after 180 days if they decide to release the $$ ,it will ask you if you want to transfer to a bank account or get a check, check would be made out to your stealth name and address.
if you dont get this email,it means they are not going to release the fund.
