Mercari asking for I.D

Have you guys been asked to verify I.d on your newer stealth profiles.. happened to me recently . Any work arounds?

Yeah, If you don’t pass identity verification they’ll submit it to the state which will allow you to collect it.

Why don’t you just send in your ID? Just tell them the information on the account is your shipping information and the correct info is on the ID. Then ask them to release funds. And withdraw. Then burn it.

I have my one main account that i will use my i.d to verify no problem. But my other stealth got flagged for the i.d verification and it had only 3 sales which were cleared already so not a big deal. But I would like a way to make sure I have a stealth account ready in case my main account gets shut down for whatever reason

That's not the issue... they have been id checking a lot of the new accounts

I'm not 100% sure. I personally may use this account as a guinea pig and submit an ID and see what happens. It only has 11 reviews, so it's not a big account.

Do you know what triggered the ID request?

Hasn't happened to me yet but again I don't sell a lot on there.

I Think they are doing it to random new accounts ... I have 1 account thats less than 3 months old with over 200 sales that it hasnt been asked for I.d .. then my newer account with all different info and like 4 sales got asked for i.d check.. However my account seems to still be open after a few days of the id check and i still made a sale as normal.. Im going to see after my sale is complete if they let me transfer $ . I'll report back..

I agree.....I have older accounts that are not being asked for ID. We should mention that this request is not mandatory, now it may become mandatory but not 100% sure.

I started selling on Mercari about 2 months ago. Made a couple sales. When the balance became available I requested a transfer and was requested to verify my ID. It was mandatory.

Oh, scratch that. That was only for the instant pay feature. The standard direct deposit didn't ask for my ID.

It's for a badge . It's not mandatory till you reach 200 sales and xxxxx total earnings...I believe they also ask if you sell big ticket items .

Just curious what your sales are like on that site. I have a niche on ebay that is pretty much mine, but sales are slipping, not trying to horn in on your product, as mine is pretty specialized. Just don't want to waste time and energy
