Activity: 0% Longevity: 27% | | US PayPal account outside US
Hello All, I am new here. I have been reading the forum from a few weeks ago and even I think is very helpfull, I need to ask this to be sure of What I am planning to do. Hope you can help me.
The thing is that I live in Venezuela, I have my venezuelan PayPal account and because of the nature (bad) of my country. PayPal doesnt allow to add any Bank account (not even from Venezuela) so it is a problem and a nightmare for me to withdraw the money.
So the complete information is this, I work as a freelancer and the 90% of my payments I do receive in PayPal. I also have an U.S. Bank account and a credit card (both of them are mine, not third party) and this Bank account and CC have never been used in PayPal.
So my plan is to open an U.S. PayPal account so I can receive the PayPal payments and send it All to my BA. The problem is that I live in Venezuela and it is impossible to open an U.S. PayPal account in here.
So. According to what I have read in the forum What I want to do is:
1- Configurate a VM so I can use my venezuelan account and the U.S. account.
2- Get a dedicated Fresh IP service (24vc or IPBurger) for the VM
3- Open the new U.S. PayPal account and activate with my CC and BA
4- Enjoy
Final thoughts. I am planning to receive like 200 or 300 daily on that account, I will probably stop using the account before reaching the 200 operations. I dont have SSN
So let me know What you think about it, as I said. I am planning to use my real information, i dont have the need to hide myself just want to be able to use the account without being limited and withdraw the money to my BA.
So please let me know if its worth the investment and if it is possible to succees in my case
Regards.

have you tried linking your US bank account to your Vene Paypal account?
I know American expatriates can do so when they are overseas.

Withdraw: Withdraw funds from your PayPal account:
To your US bank account. | Thank you for the reply. Yes I have read that and I must say that a few years ago (maybe 5 years ago) it was possible. But the last 3 years PayPal have deactivate that option for Venezuelan accounts, maybe because the nature of our country they decided to do that. Have you read all the latest sanctions that U.S. government placed against Venezuela? every single week there is a new one. Right now nobody wants to make business with this country and PayPal have made adjustment since last 2 or 3 years. I know people with many years of Venezuelan PayPal accounts and PayPal removed their U.S. bank accounts from their profile without notice and without explanation. I have called many times to PayPal to ask them to aloud me add my US account but they say it is not possible due to security issues. The only way to add the account is when you get the 180 days message.
I am not a US citizen, I am venezuelan and I have a US account because a lot of years ago I opened when visited Florida for vacations.
That is why I need to open an US PayPal account and the possibility to use it here in Venezuela with an Fresh IP address.

sorry to hear that,Paypal should remove the option on their site.
In US,where there is a large Vietnamese population, they have agencies which will remit your US $ to your family/friend in Vietnam for a fee,it probably have someone in Vietnam who will follow your instruction and mail out a local check or a place where recipient can collect cash instead.
May be there is something similar for Venezuelans in USA.
Question - is there another way for your US employer to pay you?Paypal cant be the only way of sending payment?
since you have a US bank account, you can give them the routing number and bank account number and they can do bank to bank transfer..it cost them nothing and cost you nothing.
But how do you transfer your US$ to a local bank, assuming you need it to pay bills, buy food?

But how do you transfer your US$ to a local bank, assuming you need it to pay bills, buy food? | Mmm, how can I tell you this. Venezuela is quite a complicated country. All normal stuff are not normal here. For example, the minimum salary here is 40,000 Bolívares and the official exchange to $ is 7,204 Bs per dollar (do your maths). So the local currency here the Bolívares doesn’t exist pretty much (only for the people in poverty) is only used to pay basic services, for example the electricity you could pay 5,000 Bs monthly, but the service is pretty ****ty. Here in Venezuela, in every corner you can pay in dollars (cash or transfer), that thing is pretty normal since the last year, you can pay with Zelle everywhere and the prices in 80% of the stores are reflected in dollars. In the last 3 months, the trending word searched in google in Venezuela was “Zelle”.
In Venezuela you could use the exchange houses in the country to send or receive another currencies from or to relatives but all of them are controlled by the government and that “official exchange rate” is not attractive. You can find 3rd party exchangers and they can pay you the $ at 8,400 bs. So this market is controlled by unofficial persons that have a lot of profit for this exercise. So everybody sends money to Venezuela trough this metod.
Saying that, for me is not possible to receive payments directly to my Bofa account. All my employers use PayPal (I imagine they receive their payments trough that) that is the most common payment method in Venezuela (not everyone have access to Zelle) my idea is to open an US PayPal account with the Fresh IP to be able to send the money to my BA. As I said, this is a pretty messed up country.
Believe me. I am here asking all of this not because I dont have anything else to do, it is just buscause I have searched and researched how can I use my money trying to pay less in fees and this is my better option so far.

if your employers receive money via paypal, and do not or cannot send fund to your bank account, then you dont have much of a choice,
as to setting up a stealth US paypal account and link with your US bank account and cc,you have to ask the experts here.

You said you have a credit card,is that issued by Venezuelan bank or US bank?
Years ago,I read that middle class folks in Venezuela will use their credit card and travel to Aruba once a week,go to a casino and use their cc to buy $3k worth of chips($3k is what they are allowed to bring into Venezuela then),they do not gamble, but sit in the bar or go to the beach.
then they cashed in their chips and get $3k ,flew back home and find a black market dealer with a favorable exchange rate, pay their cc bill with local currency and keep the difference, they can clear $1k or more.
What happens to this scheme now?

if you are going to set up a stealth US paypal account,be careful ,if caught, you will lose your Venezuelan account as well.
Better ask around and see if any of your countryman have tried it first.
Is mail safe in Venezuela now?
how about gold, locals must have some gold and can they easily exchange them ?

several post here suggested Privato bank,I went to the site and took a closer look.
It does deal with Paypal,wiretransfer,SEPA,etc
It also sells you Paypal VISA debit cards as many as you like, fee is $10 per card and maintenance is $10 per month.
It said you can use your card at ATMs.
You may want to take a look.
good luck
