Did that thing a few years before for non-eBay items.

For ebay items, COD is not a good way to do. USPS handles the payment of a COD in 2 different ways.

* Addressee pays, in Cash, the amount requested by the COD as well as an additional amount to USPS for a Money Order, around $1. USPS then issues the MO in your name and sends it to you.

* USPS allows the addressee to write a personal check for the amount owed for the COD, only. There is no additional MO fee and the personal check is sent to you for disposition.

You can not specify a specific payment method, it is up to the recipient as to how they wish to pay. If the buyer has cash to pay for the item on arrival, they also would have cash to buy a Money Order and send it to you.

Doesn't that mean a person could give a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ personal check to usps. There are alot of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ checks out there.

Yes, there are always some people give you a check when there is not enough money left in their bank account. USPS does not verify it simply because there is no way to verify it.

Anyone else doing this? I want to try it out, its not against eBay policy right? I would not expect a person to give you a "f ake" check if you got all their info and its done through ebay, might happen through craigslist or such though.
