Default Recommended Duration of Listing

Hi,
I wanted to see what your guys' experience is with the duration of your listings.

Is it bad to pick "Good Until Cancelled"?

Is it better to set it every 30 days and just recreate a new listing once it has expired?

I do 30 days auto renew listings, and 10 day auctions.

The listings that earn their spot on BIN are Good 'Til Cancelled.
You shouldn't even consider anything else if you're aiming to make good money on eBay.
The exception is if you're selling off a single item or an auction.

Every auction format has it's own benefit though

if you are doing auction and listing one of a kind, quantity =1,popular choice is 7-10 days.
Your listing would not be visible to most buyers immediately or even the next day ,some buyers would only look at what is ending soon to make last minute bid/sniping.
Some sellers plan to have their listing end in the evening and on weekend

I have a listing now,10 days auction starting bid 9.99,it has 100 views and 2 bidders so far, bringing it to 10.50.
It will end on Friday,I expect serious bidders will move in tomorrow and going into Friday, final bid could be $100 or more.
This is the way it works, they wait till last hour/minute to snipe, some subscribe to sniping software to do the last minute bidding for them.
Dont be discouraged if there is no activity, serious firework commences the last day.hour or minute

Are good til cancelled listings more susceptible to getting the account flagged?

Not that I know of. But I know breaching policy can.

GTC sets you up for that good old history that can drive you to the top of search (bar all the permutation from Cassini) if you set up your listings correctly.

I hate good till canceled. I made a hell of a lot more money on 5 day listings.

How the heck are you getting anything other than good till cancelled? There is no longer any other options unless you are talking about auctions.

I disagree with every bone in my body We have 180 degree differant experience. when it was possible to have 5 day listings. I would ALWAYS be on top in search. There is a lot more to being high ranked on ebay that a sale counter.... GTC sucks. It allows ebay to throttle accounts better.

with auction, you have to start low and entice them to bid higher, often higher or highest is not good enough, you could end up losing money.
please dont tell me about placing a reserve on the item, bidders dont like reserve
