Default Did you know Ebay is getting rid of Paypal?

Ebay will no longer be using Paypal. They have switched to manage payments, where Ebay manages all your payments. You have to give them a bank account or you won't get paid. And they deposit the money, at their demand not yours. Go look it's called managed payments

They are doing it really really soon and they say in 2020 everyone is going to be in managed payments. That means ebay has direct access to your bank account 24-7. Is there something that we can use that is like a bank account but is not

This is old news. Managed Payments has been in the works for quite some time now.

Very soon it will apply to all accounts across the platform.

Paypal has a MC debit card which will cost you $4.95 a month, you can link it to your Paypal account, but SSN and ADdRESS is required to do so.
This debit card is manned by BANKCORP bANK,it holds all the debit card funds in one FDIC account, but the last I heard, each cardmember gets a routing number and bank account number ,yo can find out more on Paypal site, search for Paypal debit card,it has several, look for the one which has a monthly fee of 4.95
There are also rumors,Paypal will come up with bank routing ,account number for Paypal accounts,if so,then you can keep your Paypal account and use it to accept managed payment deposits.

Just be aware that AMEX does not like mismatching names. So long as the name on the account matches that on your eBay managed payments, it may work.

I forgot about AMEX... you're right... and now I remember why I stopped using them completely for ages now.

I had an AMEX bluebird account that I tried using for one of my stealth accounts. It was frozen immediately after the first PayPal deposit came in. AMEX flat out told me they do not accept any mismatching deposits, period. They also sent the funds back to PayPal which caused other issues.

Ally Bank is another one I would avoid for the same reasons.

Yep, I remember. It was so long ago but ever since I totally ignored AMEX I had 0 issues.

Btw, do you remember between Capital one and Citibank, which one is the problematic one? I read in the forum a while back some people were having issues with one of them.

I dont think it works,I tried to pay for online purchase with my Amex money market account, the merchant called me and said it was rejected.
I think it is because it is a money market account NOT A BANK ACCOUNT.
As for Ebay MP ,it may not work as money market account does not like frequest nickel and dime activities going either way.
