Default Observation about PayPal hold and how to beat it.

Hello,
Well I know a lot of people are always looking for a work around for the 21day hold, 60 day 10% hold and all that nonsense.

This is what I did as part of an experiment, and it works. NOTE: Forum rules, won't allow me to go into much detail, but I'm sure you will be ale to figure it out.

In May, I created a brand new ebay account and paypal account. Both were created by changing the mac address on my modem. And I used a $8.88 Tracfon from Biglots , and a new BOA Bank account / Debit Card.

I sold one Item (this is not necessary, but I had it sitting around and I wanted to sell it) It was a LG universal remote. It sold for $70 and sure enough, payment was held until a few days after it was "Delivered"

Now, I then setup several strategic listings that were basically utilized feedback manipulation, I won't go into details here. (Nor will I respond to PM's, sorry)

After about a solid week I had 100+ feedback I believe it was 119 to be exact. Then I sold another high dollar Item (Bose Acoutsimass Surround Sound) It sold for $450 , and guess what. No payments held, I was able to withdraw.

My FB DSR's were all 5/5 and I had 100+ FB.

Now I'm using the account to sell legitimate items, and I have not had a hold or 60 day 10% thing at all.

Moral of the story, I think the only real work around is Selling History + 100 (+or- a few) feedback + good DSR's = no holds. (At least in this case study)

Good luck!

You are correct, a lot of people are constantly looking for ways around the hold, but it's a lot easier to just get the 20 DSR's to stop the holds.

Ahh, so it is 20 DSR's ? I never looked into the details, but it's good to know the exact number. That's good to know as you won't have to risk your "manipulation" for too long..

which brings up a point, feedback manipulation is risky, if you are running 5 manip. accounts, 3 or 4 will prolly be suspened.. or 5 if you are just being blatant and ignorant about it.

Once you get to 30 DSR's I sugges your stop. The reason why I say 30 is because, a lot of the people who will buy your auction will be suspended within a day or 2 or 3. And that will result in your loosing their Feedback count. So just do a little more as a buffer.

Thanks lakeman for that number though!

Yeah it's 20 DSR's. You might still get a couple holds after that though for high risk items or high priced, sometimes paypal does and sometimes they don't.
