Default Paypal just got hit by 180 days limit

My account was limited and was asked to provide supplier's info, Driver's ID etc.
Hence, I provided those information to them. The information which i have provided are unreal as it is a stealth account. So everything went well as the Paypal reinstate the account to regular standing with this email:

"Thank you for confirming your account information. We have restored full
access to your PayPal account.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping to make PayPal a safer, easier
way to send and receive money online.

Sincerely,
Esther
PayPal Compliance Department
PayPal, an eBay Company"

But the next thing that happened is this dude from the compliance department put me on a 180 days restriction. I guess some of you have received the similar email. This is the one:

"We have reviewed your PayPal Account, and due to the excessive risk
involved, we would like to begin parting ways in a manner that is least
disruptive to your business.

Please call PayPal Customer Service at 1-888-221-1161 to facilitate the
disbursement of any funds remaining in your PayPal account.

Funds disbursement can be handled in one of two ways:

Your remaining account balance can be used to provide refunds to your
buyers (if applicable).
OR
Your remaining account balance will be held in your PayPal account for 180
days from the date your account was limited. After 180 days, you will be
notified via email with information on how to receive your remaining funds.
If you choose to provide refunds to your customers, please log in to your
account and contact us with a list of transaction IDs for the buyers that
you would like to have refunded for you.

We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Shane
PayPal Account Review Department
PayPal, an eBay Company
"

What is going on?? Is there some mix up?

Nope. It is the typical, usual, ineffective, paypal treatment of an account holder. Yes they restore the account with the info you supply and then sometimes with 3-4 days, you get another email saying you have the 180 day limitation. Left hand of paypal does not know what the right hand of paypal is doing
To prove this, your first response was from Compliance Dept but the second was Account Review. Account Review over-ride the others.
In 180 days you will get your money

Yes. Each and every case of 180 day limitation is different. Each and every decision of paypal to release funds differs.

Read this thread: then make any comments about the matter there. This is because it will be easier to learn info if it is together in one place.

Is there a lot of money being held ? Has Greenbean said some people have had their account released 20 days before the 180 days mark, some never got their money, some got it after 48hrs of the 180 days, and some banks started working with Paypal against you and they kept your money too.

I suppose the outcome really depends on what bank you used, if you still have a valid bank account, or address, and how much was left there.

I think you need to read the Stealth Book. Using your exact name on all accounts isn't very stealth... is it?

I have close to $1k inside the account. I've kinda give up on this PayPal account already. Guess no matter what I do (try to contact paypal etc) won't work for this case. I was wondering if I can open a new paypal account to link up with the ebay account that has been link with this suspended paypal account?

Technically, you can do that. BUT you really shouldn't. You'll only be linked again.

I really doubt BBB threats will bring you anywhere. Some users here have been able to recover their money within 1 hour of getting limited with so imagination... so it's possible. It requires you to be imaginative and a good actor.

As vic said linking a new Paypal to the eBay one will get you linked and probably both new paypal and eBay account will be suspended.

Thanks for all the prompt replies... while I can't be as happy as I wish, I was thinking if there's anyway if I can savage back the eBay account or should I pronounced it dead? It has only less than 5 feedback so i guess some of you might say it's better to make a new one and start all over again. But I just wanna be sure if anyone can give some sound advice? Thanks!

Is it dead or is it alive? Right now by reason of being linked to that paypal account it is dead. But I would not bury it. What I would do, is leave it for now.
Then in say 8--12 weeks, look for items on ebay au that you can buy and pay for with MO or bank transfer..... still should be some available. Buy items that you can get FB on & build it up a little.(No need for paypal if you can avoid it) If that works, then later you could consider selling (not for at least 9 months) Or, leave the account to sit and feel sad. But make stealth accounts as well. Whatever you do, keep your info about this account. Keep a record of password, secret question, DOB & everything that makes the account yours.
May be helpful later

thanks for the sound advice greenbean. There's another question over here, since that my eBay account is a stealth account. I was wondering how can I receive the item if I were to buy something on eBay? I know that I can communicate with the seller to send the item to the address I requested, but I was wondering if I can pay for the item using my real PayPal account ( which contains all my info - which has been suspended by eBay. ), would it link to any of my stealth eBay account?

You don't need to use any stealth info when you want to buy something on eBay. Just apply a new eBay ID, after you buy something, when you come to the paypal payment page, select to pay by a credit card, you can use a real card with a real address, no need to check out using Paypal account.

They just got me too. First limitation in over 2 years. There was only $100 in there - that is what they have been holding for the 21 days. I really need that money. But, can't cry over spilled milk. Just need to pick up and keep going.

Hey guys, I was thinking of this so I came in to seek for some opinions. I came across with CCnow... I was wondering if I can get the customer to pay via CCNOW instead of paypal since my paypal acct is dead... And if I add a new paypal acct to that ebay acct.. I guess ebay will suspend my acct too. So if I were to use CCnow... will ebay get on my back?

ebay probably won't, at least not for that reason. But good luck getting buyers to use anything other than PP.
