I’m freaking out that my recent burst in sales will flag me. I didn’t take advice to “look like a newbie”. I went in hard core with SEO and professional pics. Sales are coming in hot. Should I pull back or continue? Anyone have experience with this? In the past I had two Etsy staff members that were constantly emailing me....I realize that most shops don’t even get that courtesy but I’m aware that they do actually monitor shops. Especially ones that are making tons of sales. Kinda freaking out I’m gonna screw this up....
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
Yes happened to me once a couple Xmas ago. Did around 200 sales on a new account within a couple days. They manually review your account and if they find anything wrong with you account they suspend you.. My reason was due to photoshopped images on my listings even though I've been doing that for years and 1,000s of other shops do the same.
I opened a new acct 3 years ago and sold 20k the 2nd month, no issues, 15k the third month, might have changed though, BUT all of my items were homemade and all info was real.

That was then. Now you'd be committing “seppuku” if you tried that.

Do you mean mockups? That’s what I’m currently using.
Yes mockups. They suspended me saying I can't use photoshopped images (mockups). Then when I fixed my images to real photos so they can reinstate my account they decided to ban me. Etsy is strict during this time of year.
For example if you sell t shirts, you create a blank tshirt file then in photoshop you add the design and change colors. Not the actual shirt photo you are selling.
Yes a sudden burst of sales - especially on newer accounts - is cause for a review and quite often a suspension.
Try to tone it down.
Um, don’t think so. If you were an established business and just cross listed your items on Etsy it’s not like that’s a problem. Not every new seller is a new seller on platforms, they know that.
It always comes down to what your selling. My accounts 2 months old now and I have zero issues.
