So in order to keep google voice accounts from expiring, you have to send an outgoing message every so often (maybe 6 months, I cant remember). Has anyone discovered an efficient way to do this rather than manually?

bumping this topic.
Also I would be interested to know, how guys you keep your gvoice accounts alive.
I know you can subscribe to some services, sending you ads or whatever. But I have currently no idea.
Any recommendations are welcome.
As far as I know, Gvoice does not require to pay 20 USD to port a number... So I don't understand what he means by that...
Basically if you want to keep the phone number a live for ever it cost $20 to put that number to Google Voice is basically selling that number to voice.

yes but would be nice if there was a way to automate this process
I got a VA to do that for me
Imagine having 20 GV accounts you need to keep alive.
Or you can set a day where you will be just sending a text to keep them alive and working
Can I use google voice if I don't live in the US? They gave me a phone number with my stealth account but I don't know how to use it, I need to receive an SMS to verify a transferwise account

Google Voice is indeed a good alternative for Non-US residents. You just need to have a USA IP to access the googlevoice account.
I personally haven't tried using GV number to verify the transferwise account, so you have to actually try that.
