Default Paypal Reserve Issues

Paypal put my over 5 years old account on reserve 31 days ago. They are holding £2000 of my money. They said it will be released in 30 days time. its 31 days they still haven't released it now their staff is telling me that they have raised a ticket and it can take up to 72 hours to hear back from them. Has this happened to anyone before. This is my official account so i can hunt them down if need be. Is it advisable to take them to Small Claims Court?

I would give it a few days - they are slow at doing these sorts of things but it nearly always does get done. Just need a little patients as painful as that can be!

No, not really. They reserve the right to place reserves on accounts whenever they see fit and it's covered in their Terms of Service. You must have done something to be deemed high risk.

I've had reserves on accounts before and money never gets released exactly when they say it will. The last time I had one, Paypal would release my first $1500 in payments instantly each month and then hold the rest for 30-40 days.

It would be more productive for you to learn how to deal with the reserve they've placed on your account, instead of trying to fight it by taking them to court or whatever. Because then you'd lose your account and just wouldn't be able to use Paypal in your real name anymore. You would have gained nothing.

It must be rolling reserve ie the payment you received 30 days ago only that funds will be released on 31th not all of them
