There is a lot of confusion in the forums regarding difference between VPN and Proxy.
Just think of VPN as operating system level end to end encryption. It's a privacy tool primarily, whereas proxy is application level (web browser for example).
That said there are different qualities of IPs, most bad and only a few good. Most VPN providers only provide shared IPs that are often flagged for abuse. These aren't good for stealth level account management. Higher level providers offer dedicated IPs, such as IPBurger. These are great for account management as IPs aren't shared wither others. Both are really neat and make managing accounts effortless when you setup firefox profiles.
