Default Competitor selling under profit?

I DS on ebay from a franchise in the states with an online catalog. I have competitors selling from the same supplier, except they sell at prices that would always leave them negative profit...even if they were a TRS.

Does anyone know how they do this?

Welcome to the forum - all the best as you master stealth

As tinsoldier alluded, these sellers might be selling these items at a loss while having other bigger items that move for the profit offset

Don't know if it applies here but generally speaking in DS cashback credit cards, discounted gift cards and/or being tax exempt help with price.

could be the website owner is selling ,or a relative/kid/family member who has access to the warehouse and buy at wholesale price or at a discount to your price.
or an employee who can buy at a discount .
if your cost is $10,their cost is anywhere between $4.50 - $7.
what you need to do is find his supplier and buy in volume

if it is made in China, there is plenty where it comes from.
layoff employees are often given stocks as severance pay.

You must not know the CHINA way ?
Private businesses can do what they want, you no like inventory, get lost .
They dont have spare cash, thats why you are layoff

They must be buying big lots to get cheaper or selling more to make up the difference

I do live in the states and I know what cashback is but what I am trying to figure out is why would they loose money ?

Or do they buy inventory with a credit card then resell it for a break even profit on ebay to get that cashback ?

Why would someone go through all that hassle to get $600-$1000 in cashback return a month?

Can anyone explain to me, why these guys are literally flipping for pennies? I know who the drop shippers are, they all use the same templated listings like this guy

https://www.ebay.com/usr/dropvladsales
I checked several of his products all are available on amazon. But, that's not even a funny one, Check this one
https://www.ebay.com/sch/carokirs_0/

That 2nd one is MATCHING amazon prices, so they are losing out on fees. I don't get it, unless they are just building their accounts up?
