Default I have a negative balance on paypal. Should I pay it back?

What happened is:
1) I sold an item on ebay and shipped it by Fedex
2) Fedex lost it
3) Buyer filed complaint and got refund
But I withdrawn payment to my bank before that.
So now I have a negative balance on my paypal account.
At the same time ebay suspended my account (linked to suspended user) so my paypal account is useless.
I lost my business because of this stupid ebay suspension so I am not sure that I want to return my paypal balance to zero.
The question is - what paypal can do to make me pay?
Info on paypal account is ⊗⊗⊗⊗. The only real info is bank account, but I have closed it.

They send these negative balance accounts out to collection agencies after awhile, so decide accordingly.

Of course not!
As I said - all the info is ⊗⊗⊗⊗.
The only real thing on my paypal account was the bank account.
But I have already closed it.
Can they find me by bank account?

I forgot to mention that the bank account I used is ING.
I had no problems with them, but now I read on another thread that they share information with paypal. Is that true? Does it mean paypal may find out my real name?

Leave it! If your balance is not large than forget it. They'll send your debt to a collection agency which will try numerous times to get in contact with you and try to collect the amount but they can't since no info is correct!

The amount is around $300. But my concern is that ING may share account information with paypal. Is it true? Can paypal see the real name on bank account?

The amount of the debt has to be over $10,000 for paypal to take things serious.
Im sure paypal could investigate and find out your real name if u gave them your bank info.
$300 is nothing to them. Leave the account and start a new one, and be careful next time.

This thread is pretty funny. If Fedex lost the package, then you should file a claim with them and get reimbursed. All Fedex and UPS packages are insured. Why screw Paypal? Your buyer had every right to a refund since he did not receive the package. Also, you have every right to be reimbursed by FedEx. Technically, you are stealing from Paypal. Somehow, that just is not right. Morality is a @itch.

I don't understand. If they can investigate and find the real name by bank account then what is the difference between $300 and $10000? $300 is also money, why ignore them?
The interesting thing - ING mailed out the privacy letter where they say that they will not give my private info to anybody without my permission. Hmmm...

I would agree, but:
1) Fedex reimbursed only $100 (the buyer didn't pay for insurance)
2) Paypal/ebay screwed me up so may times, so I lost much more than $300.
The very first time they suspended my account (>800 feedbacks) for very stupid reason (you know how it can be...), so it took me several months to come back on ebay with no feedback and I had to sell my inventory twice cheaper than previously. So don't say about the morality here...

Default pay it back

I would pay it back. I had a negative balance for about 3,000 and i left it like that until collections came. I told collections i would pay it off and i did but it took a while. Nonetheless i checked my credit score and it got dinked pretty bad! I had my bank account attached, and my real address.

Im no sure if its the address that is that important but more so the bank account, so yes i would pay it off. My credit is defiantly worth it to me

If you read the whole post you would see that none of his real information is on the account except for his closed ING bank account. I know that ING shares information with Paypal, but theyre not going to investigate over a little $300 negative balance. Theyll send it right to collections.

Just move on from that account. If they find out your information I would just pay it. But I really doubt they will.
